Ever wanted to make a nurbs surface from bitmaps ?

Stumbled across that ....

Zsurf is a free standalone software that lets you convert bitmaps

into heightfield iges files.

Anyone who has conversion pack can use it to make nurbs surfaces.

anyone who uses Moi3d ior Rhino can use its converter to make

obj. or 2ds files for Truespace.....:)

The bsf fileds are just the proprietory file of the

software its basically a BMP !

What you need is the iges file that is stored everytime you process....

you just pull it out of the folder and rename it......

Everytime you process an srf .igs file is made in the zsurf folder.....

Heres the caligari sign as a nurbs and a render to show how good it converts the files..

OK sorry, it is the srf.igs. It work with convert pack with TS. But the spline are very complex. Look like a displacement mapping but with nurbs.

Appears it may have a use for making such things such as a complicated wiring harness or other fine detail objects (plants, knits, etc.)

It works with signs too aif you need to put them onto a bottle etc...

heres another render its much more exact then a simple displacement..

I have tested. i joint a render in TS. Most important is to made the bitmap.

Thats correct Marcel !

Heres a bottle I made you might know the design but no intention just

the fastest to make with fillet corners....

Here it is with coat of arms.. I inserted it with the loft tool...

But you can insert it with any poly tool also !

Nice girl marcel shows how exact it transforms !

Cool! i do often this kind of work. especially with cognac and champagne. ;)

I need to test zsurf with moi3d. Very complex nurbs is very slow with TS6.6 and impossible with TS7.6 ,about 5 times slower than TS6.6 (?) , and crash in the workspace). TS7.6 nurbs are very bad for pro job, I prefer to forget. :( The view with moi3d is speedx100 with this kind of objet created with ZSURF. Then I can import a obj for Ts. It is the best way to work today. ZSURF can help me. Thank! :)

Pretty cool, haven't done as much work with NURBS as I would've liked, now would be a good time to start I guess.:)

A short update !

As this is nurbs you can trim those patches and fuse them together again

Here´s some examples...
