Or the 'value for money' issue. Feels very substantial this month; probably due to the 28 page Architectural supplement which is very impressive.

CD is nothing special: full version of Michael 3.0 for DAZ, some textures, game models, sound effects and Gnomon training videos.

Content: The Games Issue, feature on Killzone 2 and skinning/texturing a Zombie, cleaning up Mocap, how to export perfect Normal maps.

The FX of Benjamin Button. Mastering ICE (XSI 7).

A head to head of top end GPU's (Nvidia wins ;)) and a glowing review of Vray for Rhino (9/10) which frankly has me very jealous that our version is not as good...:(

Sketchup Pro 7/10 Genetica Studio 8/10 and imagesynth 2.0 7/10

A good read this month particularly for those with an interest in gaming (and architecture).

Next month, my favourite: Character Design...:D

Thanks again Splinters.
I wonder if Rhino's VRay cannot use the Shaders of 3dMax's ? Someone here stated that Sketchup's VRay had that problem yet sold for $800.
Character Design, yeaaaa.:)

Mmm, lets see.....GI, HDR as light sources, normal bitmaps supported, primary and secondary rendering engines, sun and sky tools, built in sun angle calculator, physical camera.....no mention of material libraries other than being very user friendly.

Cost twice as much as the Flamingo 2.0 engine ($799) but comes highly recommended...:)

EDIT: Wait, this caption is under a nice render:

V-ray is not just an architects pipeline. Stunning product renders can be achieved with the right materials and lighting-in rhino as well as 3Ds Max, thanks to ASGvis' native edition.

Maybe this will help:

Seems that there is a translator in the works and that 3Ds Max can output into vismat for mat for use in Rhino. Handy if you have both programs.

Would be nice if we could get a translator to get more Vray for tS libraries.
