Hi,

I think somebody else came across this problem but in my searches so far I haven't found the thread.

I am using multipass rendering using Lightworks a lot. The photoshop PSD file generated I then manipulate at home in an old version of photoshop elements (2) or Photoshop CS1 at work. I am having big problems with the file sizes with Elements at home and it keeps crashing so I have been exploring alternatives, hence GIMP. I have CorelDraw X3 but this cannot handle the layers.

So I get import with layers intact into GIMP, but I get colour switching. I am trying latest download of GIMP. I have seen a comment and a workaround to this either here or some other forum but I cannot now find it :(. If anybody can point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful:D

Hi Chris

It's my understanding that photoshop has a unique way of combining PSD layers which The GIMP cannot handle. I vaguely recall that some results are achievable with The GIMP using the 'Hard Light' layer blending option but IIRC this is not as effective as using the PSD files from tS in Photoshop.

I don't recall where or when I heard this so I can't vouch for it's accuracy but it may be worth trying.

I think it was, when importing the PSD into gimp, that the red and blue color channels are swapped. Just swap them back manually.
