Just like the thread title says, how do you unselect in Workspace?
In Model, you simply hit the Spacebar.
What's the Workspace equivalent? |

There is no unselect hotkey in Workspace afaik. One item is always selected. And be it an item in the Scene View or LE ...
Which is also the solution. Select an Item in the Scene View for example. Objects in the Workspace will be deselected. |

Adding an additional cube was also my solution and I hate it!
trueBlue, Dele, or Stan, any way to code an icon to unselect everything in a scene and hot key it? |

Here is my modified Workspace Shortcut file.
Suggest that you rename your original Window.Shortcuts.xml to Window.Shortcuts.xmlBAK and then copy/move my version to your C:\trueSpace76\tS\Scripts folder.
Additions:
Global
Space = Unselect
Shift + Left = Previous keyframe
Shift + Right = Next keyframe
Ctrl + Left = Previous frame
Ctrl + Right = Next frame
Ctrl + Home = Start frame
Ctrl + End = End frame
Note: The above Animation Editor shortcuts are in addition to the originals, difference is the AE view does not need to be in focus in order for them to function where as the originals (still present) does.
Link Editor
Home = Navigate to Scene root
End = Navigate within Selected object |

:p Off topic from a lurker:
You can load a button from the library into the Link Editor. From there you can Ctrl + Drag + Drop it into a toolbar.

Now that is pretty handy. Never knew that! Much better than make and delete a cube, eh? ;)
Thanks!

Arrgh.
Denied.
I'm using trueBlue's retro cage/Model style widget (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showpost.php?p=83406&postcount=1), thus no yellow cube.
"It's always something..."
<Edit> I see I can toggle back to the default widget and access the unselect function.
<Edit X2> Denied again, since I also have Steinie's Locking Widget installed, resetting the cage to 'default widget' instead brings up Steinie's widget. Now I can't get my cage back nor return the widget to a default state.
<EditX3> After a terrifying whirl thru the LE and some little used Libraries I have uninstalled and reinstalled my widgets back to a useable state. |

Unless I am mistaken Right clicking on the Object Navigation Widget's Sphere only closes the widget temporarily. |

Which 'yellow cube' do you mean?
A right click on the scale portion of the widget only hides the widget, but the object remains selected. |

This is true.
What's really annoying is you right click on any object in the scene that is not the one selected, it will put the object selected into edit mode.
This I don't like. |

LOL - and that is one feature I like much better. In Model side, you have to right-click directly on an object to go into and out of edit mode. THAT I never liked. |

Its the center part of the regular object widget, right clicking on that unselects the current object.

Are you sure?
With the Object Info panel open it still shows the object selected in the 'Name' box. (after clicking the central point on the default widget)
17607
To test this, try adding an SDS layer- the sphere will subdivide, proving that it's still in fact selected.
However, when I use trueBlue's LE Bookmark thingy (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showpost.php?p=35795&postcount=11), and use it's 'Unselect' button, the Object Info box actually displays " - " in the Name box.
17608
Attempting to add SDS shows a greyed-out icon, indicating that nothing is selected.
So, to answer my own question, use trueBlue's LE Bookmark Utility (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showpost.php?p=35795&postcount=11) to Unselect in Workspace! trueBlue, you have another winner.
PS: Bring back the drop down list in the Object Info panel and add the option 'None' in there, that'll provide an 'out of the box' solution! |

You are right.
By clicking the central point you remove only the default widget, it is to make an overview of the scene more enjoyable. I would like a full screen view of the scene without the interface by a click on the keyboard... :) |
