In the light of the latest announcement about the demise of V-Ray, it would be a shame if Caligari ditched development work towards releasing ts8. Will ts8 happen?

Now that V-Ray is dead, I'd like to see the new TS8 built entirely with the best of the Modeler-side plus what ever is "completed" from the Player side (workspace? it looks more like a toy...), with NO BRIDGE, and a BUILT-IN renderer, just like lightworks was integrated with ts6.6. Things went pear-shaped when the Jekyll-and-Hyde personality (player/modeler) was inculcated into a software that was on the verge of ultimate greatness (ts6.6)...

I'm looking elsewhere. with no definate word on render engine for the 'workspace' side, I'm looking for something I can rely on being there.

The real-time renderer IS the Workspace renderer. And yes, you can do a lot with it. I just prefer v-ray for my render engine.

thats not a renderer suitable for my uses... hence unless there is a suitable render engine included, I won't be looking at 8 for serious usage.
