Actually this is not about the noise that Mah Jonng tiles make, I just wanted to say that as I've always liked the expression (and it only makes sense for the real game, not the computerised matching version that everyone knows!), but rather this thread is to introduce a little experiment. We're starting up a Twitter, which I'll be updating.

Now, I do know that some folks endlessly update, maybe 10 times a day etc, and I'll have to say right off NOT to expect that! I do hope to update every day though, except over weekends, but it may see a day or two without updates (how very un-Twitter of me!)

It's an experiment, don't know how well it will work, only time will tell! Also it will be me that updates it, so again don't raise expectations for hearing about everything that Roman is doing on a day to day basis etc!

Do let me know what you think to it all - interesting, waste of time, etc. This will determine where we go with this.

Thanks!

Tom

Sounds interesting Tom.

I am not a twitter-er myself (did I say that right? :) )

But it sounds like a daily mini-blog.

Sounds great. By the way, we don't need to hear about what Roman is doing every day -- once a month (or 2 or even 3) would be nice, though.

>Who is this Roman and what does he do that everybody want to know what he is doing?

Blogging here is preaching to the converted - no-one will run across a blog on our boards unless they are already on our boards, which means not only are they a tS user, but they're pretty committed if they are checking our blogs and forums.

The idea of the Twitter is not only to be more informative to all of you who are already that dedicated (as I could just post a series of short forums posts to do that), but to also help more people find out about tS.

If I do start up a blog, it won't be here, but will be on Live Spaces, again for the same reason. There are a lot of people who simply don't sign up for the forums, and a lot of people who may not run into spaces (no pun intended) that are occupied by 3D artists, but who may love to hear about tS and what it is and can do.

And I admit, the short text input of Twitter will stop me from rambling, and allow me to post news even when time is short :)

Good to see some folks are following, I'll follow you back! Could turn into a fun thing - or could prove of little use or interest, we'll just have to see.

Thanks!

Tom

Although I've heard of Twitter, I've never actually visited it. Not sure I understand how it's set up yet. It will surely be nice to hear more from Caligari though. ;)

Now back to that Roman guy. He is from Rome? Why do people just refer to him as Roman? Doesn't he have a name? What does he have to do with Caligari? I seem to recall someone talking about some Roman guy a long time ago. I can't quite place him though.

Geez, I give the guy a hard time and then minutes later he stops by and shows me up. :p

Seriously though, it's good to see some posts from Roman again. I'm sure MS keeps him busy, but I hope this year he has more time to swing by once in a while like he used to. ;)
