:D

Ok, Santa and our significant others failed to provide what we really wanted for Christmas :p What was it you are now planning to purchase, or dreaming that maybe some day you can afford...

Here is my list:

Canon 5D MKII camera

21mpixel, and all the fixings... I have been more active as a photographer in other forums over the last few years. I have a nice collection of camera bodies and lens. I shoot some local stuff for papers on occasion, I do a few large youth sporting events during the year and I have a blast taking wildlife and landscape photos so this camera for me is a very nice compliment to my main photog styles... it's not as fast as some would recommend for the sporting events but I have been shooting the 5D MKI for the last year and I have learned to work around it's shortcomings.

APPLE MacBookPro

I am not a fanboy for Apple, nor am I for PC's, I have far too much invested into PC hardware and software, but I think I am going to bite... assuming I can figure out where to dig the money up from :) With the new generation of MB's you can boot into either MACOS or VISTA.... and have a reasonably portable pc graphix platform...

geez, lets just drag the thread down before it gets started...

I am trying to ignore all of the problems of the world and using light subjects like this to give me some hope. :p

Good luck with the liver...

I know he has some cool album titles but did you just make that one up?! :D

Honest question - I haven't checked.... I've got a couple of his and they're awesome though I need to upgrade from cassette to CD on at least one of them...

That camera sounds nice Rich - I'm no digital SLR expert (I daren't get too interested as I'll get too interested!) - I have an old-ish EOS film body and a couple of lenses and would love to upgrade to digital but want to keep thelenses - but don't know if it's possible.... don't want to have to start spending all over again!

Apart from a few cds/dvds/books, I'd like a new PC and to find out whether I get to keep my job or not (redundancies going to be announced in a few weeks... :( )

Pixologic zBrush 3.1 for Windows - $600

I want zBrush so I can add insane detail to my work I make in TrueSpace. That and it will be very useful for experience in my future attempted ventures into the game industry.

StarCraft 2 - $50-60

Not yet released...may be expected late next year. I have about a million plans for its incredible and POWERFUL map editor...

PhotoShop CS2 - $$$ may vary.

Need a version of PS that works with my current PC, and CS2 is as far back as I can go. CS2 is currently THE best one to get for the price atm.

...and...

...zBrush a few more times on my list...:P

WooHoo! Yeah Satriani is a Primary Inspiration for me.

Hi Nez.

yeah, that's the real album name. Check out:

Satriani.com

and especially listen to the streaming audio of: I just wanna Rock

Actually, check out the video. Pretty funny!

I do hope I can get ahold of one of those early copies.

I got lucky several years back and bought the rereleased Surfing With The Alien, Gold Edition. It's a Gold Plated CD. I have rarely played it but keep it in a place of reverence. :)

thanks Froo, I'll try to check out the track/vid when I'm not at work (don't want to get told off!). I've got the Extremist and Flying in a Blue Dream (I think!) but need to get some more Satch - he's great. I know he taught Vai but I prefer JS personally, though I like some of Vai's stuff too. Hope you get your copy soon!
