Heh, whilst getting drunk with a friend last night on Corona heh, I decided to model the bottle and see what I could do with it (Note: I made it today, whilst i was sober for obvious reasons lol), well this is one of the first renders, but im not too happy with the composition, the idea is to create something commercial looking for my portfolio, anyway, let me know what you think:

Ooh and im aware that the puddle created by the dripping doesnt look right, working on that

I like the glass work but I think the drip ruins it a bit. Good start though...:)

If you have beer dripping from the bottle, then there must still be some beer in the bottle - it would have pooled in the neck (which flares, giving an area that would trap liquid when laid on its side like this), and it would have pooled in the main body of the bottle itself - there's always be some residue in there :)

Except for the label, there is a cartoon-style look to it, I think because the glass has such dark edges, which I think is an accident from rendering and not a deliberate effect? I would experiement with materials there to avoid the completely dark, thick areas (and look into things like Ray Depth etc too and ensure enough rays are being spawned).

The beer itself also needs a different material, to make it look less thick and oily and a bit more bright and sparkly (Especially if this is commercial work, as this image would presumably be to make the beer look good!)

Modeling and lighting look good though, I think just that extra beer in the bottle and some material work, and you have yourself exactly what you wanted!

You spilled the beer!!! that falls under Alcohol Abuse!

Corona is a terrible thing to waste!

nice start though.. textures aside the bottle cap looks strange, nice job on the bottle.. need to tweak the materials..

You could also put a lime inside the bottle!

the idea was, just a small little bit had pooled in the end of the bottle, ur right tho, this isnt my finishing compisition me thinks

The bottle will be smoothed out in the final render, because the edges should be much more wavy and uneven due to the cheap manufacturing heh

the bottle cap looks strange
It is a mockup cap, made really for a render whereby it wouldnt be such a focus

ive made a mockup for an idea ive got for a poster its quite strange and this doesnt quite explain it:

The idea is that the bottle is pouring out beer down a crack in the white floor, the further down the crack you look, the more it transforms into the Oesophagus and the beer finally splashes into the stomach glistening as it does lol, not sure however if this makes it out to be more of a congestion remedy advert, so maybe i coudl turn that into a pun like 'Corona! The Original Stomach Settlet' or something

well i had a lot of the scene done a sec ago and then a crash meant a lost it all, this is the second time today i have lost a good hour or so's work, gonna retire to bed b4 i smash something lol, i really think truespace ought to have a function that saves whatever ur doing every minute or so in the background to a backup scene file

There is a plug-in that does that I believe, a quick forum search might unearth it as I seem to recall hearing about it recently. I don't recall the name though (but then I save every five minutes myself anyway ;) )

The Mag Timer that Remnar and Stan shared with us could help. You set the timer to whatever you want and just save when you get the message. It should be renamed to "Develop good habits";)

Don't let them off the hook too much....it's still their software that took a dive! It's the old joke reworded..."Hey guys at Caligari, TrueSpace crashes when I do that" response from Caligari "stop doing that"

ok this is much better, but the lighting is all too bright, im going to make a darker scene with projector lights to give the bottles something to reflect, what do you think?

The angled edge of the dark blue section of the label looks jaggy.
