I think this guy reminds me of Bill and Ben the Flower Pot Men which was a kids TV show in Britain about 10 thousand years ago. I think you have succeeded in getting a sad 'feel'. I think the ground textures need to be shinier to make them look wetter. All that heavy rain there shoud be splashes as the rain drops hit the ground. I think you should compress your JPGS a lot more - these took ages to download on my dial-up connection - you might get more feedback if your pics downloaded faster. Good work. I was terrified of going into my grandfathers garden shed coz it was dark and full of pots that might come to life and get me!! Maybe if you either blur them w/ tS DOF or in post (either with z-buffer or render them on separate layer, 32-bit TGA) that would help. But as far as getting the emotion, good job! P.S. If you try to use trueParticles w/ motion blur it will not work. trueParticles does not move in sub-frame incriments so you actually get correct motion blur on regular objects but the particles just move faster. Wanted to save you the trouble in case you tried it.
