I been taking my art work a bit more seriously lately and have edited my website and uploaded a new rendering. I plan on making tutorials with the Scatter plugin I made and ended up with this image. I used Primal Particles, a set of FX textures I made a while back, and my plugin Scatter (the Particle Manager utility) to manage it.

I forgot to mention a few things. The image is done in trueSpace 4.3. I hope I don't get a rate down for that :p The floor was made with Simbiont. The reflections were made with ray catcher. The Fx images were from my set of textures and I probably should make them available on my site. The hat was painted with Simbiont as well. I tried doing this in the ts6 demo but I couldnt figure out how to lathe a nurb cross section.

Thanks for the comments. What I want to do is lose the initial light and make the Fx particles emit light. That should give a better picture I think. I already can critique my own work here. The texture on the hat makes it look like the light is comming from the mid upper left which is not. I also don't care for the f/x that much but if any one has ideas on what I should use let me know. The particle stream is just one particle stream. Scatter plugin manager allows me to apply shaders to certain particles. I used 3 textures but I'm thinking I should use a different mix.

Yay! A magic hat! The more the merrier I say. Magic Hat purists would tell you that a true magic hat should be pointy (the point helps to concentrate the magic!). Top hats are generally used for conjuring and magic 'tricks' but the beauty of true magic is you can do anything you want (so long as no one gets hurt!) - that's what makes it magic!!

Oh yeah - I love the magical effects you've created. Well done.
