Here's a NewsPaper Machine WIP I've been putting together for our new site graphics that I've been working on. When it's done it will be a frontal render for our News Section (the Newspaper will be something like "The O.G. Times", or the "Daily Ozark", or some such play on words.:D ). I have to make a Store (at least the front) and an old fashioned video game machine next. When it's all said and done, everything will be in one scene, and I'll take a closeup shot of the NewPaper Machine, and Video Game Machine.

It's not a newpaper machine, it's another mech warrior. Give it a chainsaw and Gatling laser and you'd see that too.;)
Nice edge scuffing. |

Good job, Keith! Nice texturing around the edges.

What game will be on the old arcade machine? Surely Pac-Man...

Nope; it's not really Pac-Man unless it's the table-top version anyways:D It will be our new free game we finally finished, which you can download and play till your heart's content here:
Paradise Lost (http://www.ozarkgames.com/smf/index.php?topic=582.0)
I want it to look like the old style stand-up type of video game; complete with a live-screenshot of the game's menu (25 cents not required).
Thanks for the feedback all.

Actually I was thinking of the mini-tutorial you showed us on texturing your mech, when I was putting the texture together. I just wish Paint Shop Pro had some of the nifty grunge brushes that PS has.

What version? I know in 9 [what I have] & X you can create your own custom brushes [& possibly 8 as well], though it's not a feature I've got around to using yet.
<edit>
I thought MM used PSP anyway, not PS?

I'm using PSP7, and custom brushes are possible, but for this job I'd rather use a photo of chipped paint or a rusty something and use the clone tool to paint it on the uv-map/texture. |

I'm running Paint Shop Pro X (got it for $50 with my Dell Computer last December); I'll have to look into it.

They fixed the image browser bug yet? [I don't know if it affected everybody] |

I turned the image browser off as soon as I started using version X. I believe they are up to either 10.02, or 10.03 now, and I heard they've fixed quite a bit; although I have yet to go past 10.01 yet.

Why?

I may give it another go in the not too-distant future, but I have 9 for now, & other things to pay for before I could consider it. |

I haven't stopped to put it in my workflow/learn how to use it properly yet; so until I do it's just taking up real estate. I don't like that Corel has taken away all the little icons in the menus though.

Bare in mind this is based on PSP9, but... have you tried right-clicking on a toolbar -> Customise -> Menu tab. In PSP9 there's an option to show/hide menu icons. |

Thanks, it's just like you pointed out; there is a box to check for the icons to be displayed in the menu. ( wish the book had come with the program, but I did save $50 this way. I still have the book for V9 though). That's much better.
