Ok, here's a weird one. Anyone who has followed my work over the months (years) will know that I write children's books. What you probably don't know is that they all stemmed from a job for an IT developer who wanted an interactive character for software they were developing for a PDA. As a promotional excercise and for fun, I sent that developer a spoof picture featuring the character (pepepig) every single day for about a month (to keep the concept alive).
There were some real howlers in there (reservoir hogs, robohog, Harry Trotter, Saving Private Rind etc. etc.)
Anyways, I still dabble in this from time to time when I see a pig pun in a film title so I thought I might post a few here in the WIP.
I have also been asked if I could make available some graphics for mobile phone content and I thought that these would be ideal.
The 'art' here is in trying to match the original film poster as close as possible while using a pig for the characters. Gotta be a bit funny as well.
Honed my Photoshop skills doing these...;)
Try this for a start; |

How about the adventures of 3 or 4 retired pigs in Yorkshire, "Last of the Summer Swine"?
Others that spring to mind: "Apocolypse Sow", interstellar porcine adventues with "Stygate SG-1", "Equilibriham", & of course the obvious "Silence of the Hams". http://homepage.ntlworld.com/alien42/smilies/pig.gif |

Ah Mr Splinters - your visions inspire and light up my life. It's worth logging onto these forums just to see what delightful things you have for us to enjoy - it's a treat!
Now I know that you've not been having much success (yet) getting your childrens books accepted by publishers but how about a series of these porker piccies as a novelty joke book? - the humour value is certainly there!
I mention this because this is a different market which may be worth investigating - novelty and joke items are always popular as gifts. Can't hurt to check it out anyway - just a suggestion. |

Your're on to something Wizard but off the mark by the smallest margin. Using a pig as a gift for your wife or girlfriend could be life threatening! How about a whole series using a cat? |

I still think the pig is the way to go...girlfriends or not.
As for comedic value-I once thought this was funny; |

You could sell them as posters. Either get a local printers to do them for you, see if you could find a company like Lulu that does posters instead-of/as-well-as books [haven't checked whether Lulu do them], or you could print them yourself as mini [A4] posters [unless you got yourself an A3 printer. |

It is from an Orange advert (uk phone company). Used to read
Just Talk; pay as you go.
The future's bright. the future's Orange.
Most UK residents would be familiar with this...guess that's the problem with images that are not used worldwide. |
