I'm planning to create a full living room in radiosity with truespace. But I'm testing with some variables. Well, tell me what you think :) .

Cool. How long did it take for the radiosity solution? Also, I have never quite figured out how to use radiosity and textures on the objects. The textures never seemed to show up. What would I be missing?

The render does look good; I would suggest turning down the light intensity though.

No, the overbright effect is caused by photoshop. Because I don't think TS 4.3 can use the glow settings.

I think I overdid it a little :) .

I'm modelling some tables and chairs right now. I'm also planning on making some curtains and maybe some sort of statue in the corner.

this looks very good. I spent a lot of time getting the most out of radiosity, so I'm keen to see hop you get on. What's your lighting setup?

I used 2 kinds of lights: a spotlight, and a normal light. I use hard shadows for the best radio effect. I applied the shadows for 1 spot, and 1 normal light. The other two lights are for the brightening. And I played with the tonemapping setting on the radio menu.

I've created some strange modern looking concept and rendered it radiosity off coarse. This render isn't edited by photoshop. Right now, I'm trying to create a chrome-like material using just the caligari metal, or even the caligari pong shader.

In a few moments, I will succeed I think :) . I have the feeling I'm getting close to a realistic looking metal.

I think this is a good metal to start with. What do you think?

those images are quite good, do you have any tips on radiosity settings? I have messed with it in the past but the time it takes only to find out it sucks is too much for me. The shadows especially are problematic for me (very blotchy and ugly) but likely that it because I havent run the full solution. Any ideas you could share would be appreciated especially if there are some tradeoffs in settings that could allow for faster solution with decent shadows.

I use highres shadowmaps with hard ray-traced shadows. I use other lights (normal) without shadows to brighten things up. And my solutiontimes are long, so I would only use it for final rendering.

But I'm creating the table right now and he's calculationg a solution. I hope that the metal is displayed as it should. Because he's calculating over 30 minutes now :) .

Very impressive ! When I saw the first pic I had a hard time to believe the thread title ! :D

I got the feeling that you were using VRay and Subsurface scattering for the pose-doll ! Keep it up !

This is the second test for my table. I added some glass, and I adjusted the capsule construction a bit. I'm working on a descent modern looking chair right now. I'm adding things to my final scene piece by piece. I will reveal the base of my final room soon.

And for the other radioers: Use a white sky. Then I get the most realistic looking effect. In my case I need photoshop also to get the glow effects with the innerglow/outerglow settings.

looking great...do you mean a white background when you say "sky"?

I'm testing a solution with multiple lights now. I also created the concept for the chair ,which is a bit simple.

This is a low quality test, sorry, but I'm calibrating right now.

I'm terribly sorry for beeing inactive this long. I am very busy with my education lately, so that's why it takes so long to do something. I updated my hardware right now so the radiosity wont take as much time as before.

I'm working on it right now.

New renders will be shown in a short time!
