Something I have been playing around with, experimenting with attaching objects onto Motion Studio rig...rather than skinning. Also working on a 'fake' glow around the blue 'police' lights.
Usually I just model 'stuff' then after it looks 'cool' try to make sense of it..lol
With that..the green things/tubes are heat sinks..yeah that's it..heat sinks.
:)

'Servos' ..(I think that is what you call those little motors)
Also a hydrualic lift type sound....?
(could rip them from a movie DVD..but would rather have a clean source) |

You can have a lot of fun recording those types of sound effects for yourself - most homes have lots of motors that make sounds you can sample - microwaves, vacuum cleaners, washing mashines, dishwashers etc. There are some excellent freeware programs for editing sound files so you can slow 'em down, speed 'em up or change the pitch ans so on. This gives you the ability to taylor make your SFX and also avoids all copyright issues.
Just a thought - hope it helps |
