As usual it is rubbish. Why don't you try something a bit more detailed?

Sorry Matski007, we have a love/hate relationship that only a student and teacher can fully understand...it is completely based on irony, rubbish British humour and jealousy.

Therefore to the initiated (such as Hemulin) it reads;

Brilliant work as usual and the detail is amazing...damn you...you are getting better at this than me.

Sorry for any confusion...

It looks like the circuit board is sitting directly on the metal chassis. I hope your bubble doesn't back into that prop!

lol dont worry splinter, i can see now, i do have a sense of humour and i am British lol, one thing i realised tho, u gotta be careful what u say in text form cos people can take it the wrong way cos they dont know how u were thinking when u wrote it, where do you teach btw?

I teach at the Read School in Drax, North Yorkshire where, ironically, Hemulin is very lucky to be a student...and a very good one at that. I put it down to the quality teaching...

This looks really good, but the springs on the shocks (those are shocks, right?) look a little fine to me, especially when compared to your cabling.

Did you hear that Hemulin? Splinters is jealous! Up to you whether you see that as a compliment or not. I would.

Don't feel so bad Splinters, in many years time you can look back and say "I taught him everything he knows." Now on a side note, how do we get the edge on him? It isn't good having someone younger than us progress so fast.

Man, what am I doing up so late?

Well, I guess that, like Hemulin and me, you are on vacation from School/Uni?

That explains the late night...as for the edge...I think we are fast losing it.

I only have my age and wisdom to fall back on...

However, every time he fires up TS7 he has my work scattered all around the screen...ha!...;)

Still...to ahem, paraphrase Darth Vader, c'mon Hemulin adopt a deep voice:

I've been waiting for you, splinters. We meet again, at last. The circle is now complete. When I met you I was but the learner. Now, *I* am the master.

Of course my retort will have to be...

You can't win, Hemulin. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine.

As usual it is rubbish. Why don't you try something a bit more detailed? Why thank you! As Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) once said "a craftsman is always glad to see his work is appreciated" or something along the lines of that.
great start looking goodThanks:)
dunno what Splinter means by what he saidRead a few of our other posts and you'll understand ;) (or read the next line and wait for the response)
you are getting better at this than meI would never go that far....well....not in public anyway!:D
It looks like the circuit board is sitting directly on the metal chassisYes, that is a problem that I was trying to fix prior to submitting this image, that circuit board is actually a thick wires width above the main chassis, dunno why there are no shadow to show it is though:confused:
I hope your bubble doesn't back into that prop!Help.......help........help.......splat! (sorry I meant that would be a terrible disaster)
I teach at the Read School in Drax, North Yorkshire where, ironically, Hemulin is very lucky to be a student...and a very good one at that. I put it down to the quality teaching...:rolleyes:I'm going to have to question you on the "very lucky" part at some point ;).
This looks really good, but the springs on the shocks (those are shocks, right?) look a little fine to me, especially when compared to your cabling.Your quite right thanks, the springs should be thicker, shame, those springs looked quite nice too.
Did you hear that Hemulin? Splinters is jealous!:D:rolleyes:
Now on a side note, how do we get the edge on him?You could start a cooking thread again where the first course would be home-made curry, i'd be spending all my time replying to that instead of modelling:D
Man, what am I doing up so late?Don't you have something to study for or has your uni finished now? (If you're at uni?)
I've been waiting for you, splinters. We meet again, at last. The circle is now complete. When I met you I was but the learner. Now, *I* am the master.

You can't win, Hemulin. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine. There's still quite some time before that day....I hope!

LOL, Hemulin, your wit is improving considerably too.

As for the lucky part-perhaps that should be limited to the DT department rather than the rest of the school...do you remember my predecessor?...things could have been very, very different..

LOL ! :D

We should have a dedicated "Splinters vs Hemulin" thread

The car looks really great already, but I'm curious...is it based on something that actually exist? Never seen or heard about designs like this before.

I was born in Britain and live in the Pacific (well, on an island in the Pacific!). Thanks for asking Roman but this Pacific friend is freezing! We recently had the heaviest snowfall since 1945 here! On the bright side however plenty of time for sitting and trueSpacing to while away the winter....

Hemulin - love your fan car. I have to say this.... wait for it... it's fan-tastic!!!:D :D :D .

Seriously it looks like the sort of toy I would have loved as a kid. I'm keen to see the finished article.

Cheers Mark, you must be getting some pretty good wages if your giving up trueSpace :(. You can't be doing other work all of the time, you got to have some rest, and when there's rest there's always time for trueSpace.

Don't you have a little DT project to explore?Hah, all work no play.....I remember the days.......;)

We should have a dedicated "Splinters vs Hemulin" thread :banana:I like that idea, however I suspect we would still be inclined to take over peoples threads...just out of habit :D

The car looks really great already, but I'm curious...is it based on something that actually exist? Never seen or heard about designs like this before. Thanks, try searching for "RC Car" on google images, its probably about the 10th page, it's not my design...i'm not really sure who created it, i'm just modelling from photo's at the moment, i'm gathering up my skills and when i feel competent I will start out on an original project (this excludes school work splinters)

OK, heres an updated render. I actually rendered this 2 days ago, however have not had time to post as I went to a long wedding yesterday/this morning and as a result only got up recentley.

[Click on image for larger version]

I have made the circuitboard look like it is above the metal chassis and not on top of it, I have also changed a few other things; please excuse the bad texture on the front of the chassis (i don't know what happened there). I will post an updated render soon (when it has finished rendering - 15mins i think)

Great render, but hey, where did the wheel bumps go? I liked them ! :D

Oh, and the suspension look more powerful now !

Did the googling and...the car actually exists...the insanity of people with too much free time ;) (Liked their comment on why they did it: "Because I had the parts" :D )

BTW Hemulin,

I don't want to alarm you, but your avatar seems to have mutated again ;)

Great render, but hey, where did the wheel bumps go? I liked them ! :DThey will only be put back in for the final render as they increase the poly count by a lot. I think together the two setse of bumps haev around 120,000 polys, so I still want to be able to move around my scene.
Oh, and the suspension look more powerful now ! Yeah, in this case, thicker is better!

BTW Hemulin,
I don't want to alarm you, but your avatar seems to have mutated again ;)LMAO, i've got to generate a new sig now , I wish it would stop doing that

I am not really sure what to make of that....is it because of your previous experiences with stoker regarding pc's ;):D - i say no more

Maintenance is not a problem, baring in mind I have had my hands inside computers from the age of 13ish, the problem is getting the new bits fast enough (and cheaply enough) - i have a feelling i am going to have to blow lots of £££ on a new mobo and cpu:(
