I thought I'd post this one. This took about 30 minutes to model, and another hour or so to get things in place for the final render.
I used the player window quite a bit to get the light angles. It's very cool to switch back and forth between the player and model window as a way to save time.
This was rendered in Vray with trans shadows and caustics turned on.

tone down the garbage can, also the same for the floor, it is too polished. Otherwise nice. any reason for these artifacts?

This looks like a nice spot to park up for a coffee and a spot of 'people watching'!
The thing that stands out for me is the parallax. The room looks like it was 'photographed' with a weide angle lens but the background does not. Run a pair of imaginary parallel lines along the plane of the floor: they should appear to meet at the 'vanishing point' which should be at the horizon. Because the floor plane does not line up with the horizon the building looks... sort of warped out of shape.
I'm sorry if that sounds unclear. If you can fix up that mismatch and maybe dirty the floor up a little you'll have a really good image.

Thanks guys
This scene was done to test Vray... The ultra shiny floor was more about seeing how the reflectivity would look. The floor is definitely too shiny as ceramic tile goes (maybe polished marble could be this shiny). The brass bucket is very similar to a plant holder I own, and looks just like that when the sun hits it. As far as the artifacts...welcome to Vray. You can make 'em better with LOTS of tinkering ...or photoshop them out. (probably the faster way in the end)
I think the funny lens look is due to the panoramic camera which is placed up high in the room and set to wide angle
Thanks for the input

You mean V-ray had its issues, is it just ts7 or max and others have this issue with artifacts? It would be something to look into. |

Not sure if other programs have the same result, haven't used them so I can't say for sure, but raising the sample level helps this out, same as dividing large shapes up by quad dividing helps as well. These artifacts are not uncommon, same thing applies when creating a radiosity solution. Just needs a bit of tinkering to find a happy medium. |

Remember also that Vray for Ts is only version 0.9, or incomplete. Keep reporting these bugs and artefacts and they should be picked up for version 1.0 where possible.:D |

No, Vray for TS7 is based on the Vray SDK licensed from Chaos Group.
It is called v0.9 because it is not yet completed. In about a month the V1.0 Vray for TS7 should ship. This version is nearer to Vray advanced than Vray basic so it should have SSS, fur etc. Can't wait myself... |

As far as I know the Vray for trueSpace version based upon the SDK from Vray version 1.45. It's been around for approx 2 years now. I guess a new one (V1.5) should be available as soon as Vray 1.5 is finished and (maybe) can be adapted to Vray trueSpace as well. |

Only if you haven't bought VRay yet. Otherwise, version 1.0 "is" your purchase, you were just given 0.9 to hold you over for the time being... :) |
