A few months ago I had my first hand at teaching trueSpace to a few other young (12-13 year olds) people.

I had wondered whether any other people have had experiences teaching tS, whether they found it useful to use tutorials or whether it's better to show people personally.

I found that it was really easy for them to pick up things when they were shown exactly how to do it, over just reading manuals and other information.

When we used to run the annual UK trueSpace user meetings it was a case of demonstrations all the way.

For new tools and features we'd use a projector and screen to demonstrate while fielding questions from the attendees as we went along. When everybody was working at various projects we'd float amongst them fielding questions and showing alternative methods.

I always have to remember that different people learn in different ways. I work best with hands-on, well with demonstrations but less so with tutorials. I've also had to teach professionally using a methodology where you basically get the students to ask questions and you prompt them in the right direction until they stumble on the right answer themselves. That was hard because I just cannot learn that way and so I hated teaching like that but it was what I had to do at the time.

Yeah, I agree, particularly with trueSpace I find it much easier (to teach and learn) by just telling it/being told it straight off.
