Great idea to post a 'best of'.

Well done to all who were mentioned.

Hope this feature is going to be continued, so I can get a mention.

Chris

Yes, we plan on doing this every month, not on any particular date in the month though, just whenever we can :)

Thanks to all the artists who post here on the forums, sharing their work, and so often while it is still work-in-progress, which is a great learning tool and a great incentive and inspiration for other people, watching how someone goes from beginning to end in an image.

Anyway, we know we have a LOT of visitors who pass through the website who never come into the forums, or if they do, it will be random chance whether they hit a thread with artwork, or just one asking questions, etc.

That's a shame since there is a lot of artwork on here which people just don't ever see or hear about. Some of it ends up in the galleries, but some of it doesn't of course, so this ensures that visitors know just what sort of great work you are all doing :)

By the way, being on those pages has no bearing on forum results. You can still submit if your image showed up on the best of the forums pages - BUT it is no guarantee you are going to win or get placed! There won't be any favoritism in the judging as to whether we choose to highlight an image or not.

Anyway, keep up the great work all you artists out there! And we hope everyone enjoys this new feature on our site.

Thanks!

Tom

Tom,

The new area looks great! The tabs at the top now working exactly as I was hoping. There are now calendars in BOTH Images and Animations. The look and feel is very attractive, a great selection of work to show off TS. I'm sure visitors will get an even better impression of trueSpace and it's professional results.

Love that feature Tom, and a brilliant suprise to find pepe in there. Many thanks for the exposure..it looks brilliant!

One thing-on the main page (with all the chosen threads) you describe pepe as "the most famous movie start you never heard of"!

This was a nice surprice! :D

And again I feel the much needed whip to keep working on my project ;)

Though I noticed something ...the Community button on the BestOf page leads to the old forum..

You might also consider a more permanent special gallery page linking to finished artwork in the "Image Gallery"-thread, since the older ones hidden behind a lot of pages might be forgotten.

Pixologic (ZBrush) had one of thoose (still have, but it's harder to find now), with many small thumbnails and no text (easy admin;)).

Hm, but maybe it's just me...I like user gallerys and it was the primary reason I bought both trueSpace and ZBrush. :D

We like user galleries too. First, it is great to give our users exposure and coverage for the great work they do. Kind of a shame that the great work has been "hidden" for some time - the galleries do a lot to promote some, but others get overlooked there, so this new page should help.

The next great thing (for us) is that we can tell people over and over how good we think our software is - but of course we'll say that :) On the other hand, seeing what users are making with it is the thing that really speaks about what the software is capable of doing, far more than any spec sheet we could produce, or any email we could write up.

The last thing is - this sort of artwork is just great to look at :)

I'll look into those odd links you mention, and consider ideas like "best of the older galleries" too (though time is a constraint for us, and we do like to keep promoting the most recent stuff first, but we'll see what is possible!)

Of course that page is a great page not because of anything we've done, but because of the artwork on it, so thanks to all those talented users out there who keep turning out such great eye candy!

Thanks!

Tom

Very cool idea with the forum. I may just have to start something up :) Sorry if I'm being daft, but can anyone find the aniamtions of the first few months of 2005? I can not get to any of them. I'm trying to figure out when I last entered the gallery... has it been a year already???

Those are arrows?!?!?! I thought they were borders or brackets or... something pretty! Oooh! Thank you, now I get to look around. A bit hard to get to though, isn't it? We have to wait for 2007 to see 2005, but then we can't view 2006? What an od system :D

Thanks again.
