Whoa... after giving that nightmare a whirl I don't want to hear any more complaints about 'weird user interfaces'.
tS aint got nothing on that mess.

I cant even figure out how to quit the application. There doesnt appear to be a close or quit button or icon anywhere.

The menu is hidden up top until you move the mouse there...you'll find "Exit" under the "File" menu as usual. It takes a while to get used to all the unused space, but you can change the default size of the canvas...it is really easy to use once you get the hang of it.

Just thank your lucky stars you didn't pay for it like I did back when it belonged to MetaCreations...then Corel...now DAZ??? Wonder where it'll go next?

I think we've gotten spoiled rotten by the truespace interface. :)

I downloaded it last night and played with it awhile. Pretty cool. I almost bought it when it was $149, then $99. But didn't. Now it's free... SWEET!

Been using this for years now to create backdrops, postcards and wierd abstract nonsense from the deepeset parts of by brain (about a micron in) :D

The main problem I have had with it is the slooooooooow renderer, which I leave overnight for HQ stuff.

Version 5.5 is faster though, but not by much.

Interface wise: been using it since version 2 so like the Truespace Interface I have grown accustomed to its eccentricities :)

I mainly use Vue Infinite now for real life scenes, but bryce still has its uses on the freaky hippy Psychedelic stuff I do for the local Hippy Emporium

Anyhoo its free and a useful tool, its has saved me more than once ;)

Cheers

exactly! The sky capabilities alone are worth having it on your hard drive..

Bryce is what got me into 3d in the first place; got Bryce 2 free on a cover disc a few years back and my life changed overnight...

I rendered my first glass sphere floating by a mountain with Bryce *sigh*

 The one thing that just won't stop buggin me is trying to remember how to get two terrains to line up [match along the edge] with eachother. I'd swear I read it somewhere, maybe even the manual...I've never been able to find it again.

Anyone know what key combo does this? It would be much appreciated.

It's just like the console game industry; they lose money on every Playstation/Xbox that gets shipped, but they more than make up for it in the sale of games.
