Hi all,
The chat is on again this week - two weeks back it did not happen since we were at SIGGRAPH, and last week I think there was only a "small" one since I was ill at the end of the week and couldn't attend and I am not sure who turned up and who didn't.
However, this week it is back to normal - start time is 7pm PST, though Roman won't be in until 8pm PST.
Hope to see you there!

I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the truePlay username and password are the Caligari customer ones used to access the purchase areas of their website. They are not the forum ones. |

Yes, it's the "serious" username and password that you use when downloading products you purchase from us. The forums are separate (of course you could create your forum login to be the same, but usually people seem to create them differently).
So this the username and password for logging into shared space is the same one you use for logging in to the Repeat Downloads area.
Sorry I wasn't able to make it last night - was it a good one?
HTH!

I was in there for the first half hour or so.
At some point the initial download was around 4meg to get caught up with everyone. On my DSl that became a wee bit cumbersome, though I do need to move up to cable.
Think people may want to be aware of that at some point...might want to work on lower poly items for now, but it was fun.
Great potential as a TS learning tool without a doubt.
Also at some point I was getting a 'text to speech' pop up that i never had before, not sure how that started, who started it, who heard what etc.
As with all things you really need the proper tools to enjoy it fully, higher speed connection a videocard/PC that can properly display the DX 9 environment etc. (of which I currently have niether). |

So he created some bodies for everybody’s Avatars to set on. We made it so when you select a view from the object the Avatar snapped to the body and of course controls to view left, right, up, down, and zoom in and out. Great potential as a TS learning tool without a doubt.
Yes I agree! I have learned a great deal from Paul, Norm, and Dele. "Masters of the Link Editor"
Also at some point I was getting a 'text to speech' pop up that I never had before, not sure how that started, who started it, who heard what etc. That "Text to Speech" panel comes with trueSpace7. I loaded it into the Workshop and changed the panel to show automatically for people with truePlay. Unfortunately it did not work as expected. I saw the words that you had typed but did not hear them automatically. I would have to press the speak button each time to hear it. It seems to me that this worked before with a previous version of trueSpace7. Good news is, that it is speculated that there will be voice capabilities soon. |

being on a 56k modem [like me] is ok if there is not much going on..it would be better if the message system didn't lag behind.. |

For some reason TP keeps locking up (program not responding) when I hit any of the icons. Not sure if it is a conflict from my end or what. I've been in before when I was the only one there.
I have a render going now, so I might try again later when that is done, maybe that will help.

anybody on tonight? I cannot seem to get into any of the areas. I can login successfully but as soon as I click on any of the icons (games, training, workshops, help) trueplay locks up. any thoughts? I have tried every single week, and every week the same thing happens.
thanks,

Hi stan. Yes, I do have ts7. I am trying to login using trueplay. Maybe that's the wrong way to do this?

All,
Weird thing happened to me last night. I went into the Thursday Night get together using Trueplay and everything was ok. I left and exited Trueplay and started up Truepace 7.11 and joined the same room. This time there was no dialog box. In LE I could see all the users, their Avatars, controls etc but could not communicate with anyone. There were no hidden windows that I could find.
Any ideas? |

Frootee,
Go here for settings:
http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=1178&highlight=port
Look at Stan's post.
Go into your LE and click the orange button (top right of LE window) untill your at the top. Then look for "Network" and in there change the settings. (Just one letter change)
If you still can't get in start looking at your firewall to see if that port is getting blocked. |

If this happens, you just have to left-click the Login tool again and a new chat window should appear. I had same scenario happen to me (usually self-inflicted) and this helped me.
Hope is helpful for you. |
