Just something currently working on, C&C always welcome. Rendered with Vray, 1 area light with GI 1st bounce = 1.00 2nd bounces = 1.5 and Transparent shadows enabled.

great, i love the simplicity, good show of how HDRI rendering can make anything look good

I dissagree, Its the artist that made this one look good. HDRI is simply the rendering mechanism.

Thanks guys, that good eh, maybe I have been looking at it too long. Not sure how long it took to render but it was quite a while though, transparent shadows and area lights add huge rendering time on my pc not sure why yet. Oh this scene is actually rendered with V-ray not HDRI though.:)

Well Mr. Daybe, we all know your a talented artist, the program just obeys the artist. I like your image, but somehow I want to put my fingers in there and spread your objects apart, maybe that is good maybe not.

I am not crazy about your bottles of mustard and ketchup, my suggestion would be if you were to remove them and move away the box of the tissue paper, that way you could show the tissue paper itself (which you did very well). Also watch your proportions. I love to see you zoom back a bit, just a bit too.

Aren't you glad you know me...

Very Nice! You do really great work daybe. It's always fun to see. :) The only thing that my eye is catching here is that dark black line going down the middle of the salt shaker. Seems off to me. That aside, very well done!

Very nice! I am tempted to agree with Behzad - it does look a little cluttered.

I note that the image looks a little grainy - is that a V-ray characteristic?

Thanks guys, ya it is a bit cluttered and I am working on another version, the grain was added in photoshop afterwards same for the blur, personal preference I tend to do that quite a bit just to break up the crispness of the image a bit.

Thanks for that explaination Dave - s'funny, all these CG software developer-types are trying to make software that produces crisp sharp images then someone wants to come along and grunge them up - reminds me of Jimi Hendrix in the early days of electrified guitars!

Its all in the name of Art (whoever he is ;) )

Nice Job.

only one thing, the black stripe on the salt glass ( looks like a rendering error )

Alrighty Guys, here is an update, thanks for everyone's suggestions, they really helped out. Think I might play a bit with the lighting to see if I can come up with something more interesting. I think I will try and add a bit of reflection to the table top as well.

Vray Render 20 mins. 1 area light Transparent shadows, GI samples 15 1st 1.00 2nd 1.5

Great work Daybe, have you put it into the Gallery competition this month?

Even if you are not 'competitive' I imagine there are many who go there rather than the forums just to see what artwork can be done with TS. I would be happy to lose to this quality of work...;)

Thank's mate, I haven't entered yet, I might just do though. You know it's getting harder to win the every month as the level of artwork is getting better and better, and with this latest release the quality of the artwork will probably be outstanding. I myself can't wait to see the results.

You are right but then again your work is excellent. The DOF in this image reminds me of my entry (MP3 player). Mimics the way macro mode works on a camera.

C'mon Daybe-lets see how a couple of Beta Testers get on..;)

Alrighty then, My friend Behzad gave me a few suggestions so I made some changes based on his suggestions. I have entered it into the gallery as you suggested splinters, now do you want to see it now or wait to see if it makes it into the gallery.

Nice, but where's the grainy look coming from? Postwork I guess? If so, I think it's a bit overdone.

I suggest you put some kind of blurred kitchen background that reflects in the secene. It would look more....complete I suppose. It looks a bit too dark an dull IMO. My 2 € Cents ;)

The mug material turns out very well, tissue box is a nice addition. Keep this going to perfection dude. :D

Now if you decide to use the kitchen HDRI supplied with TS7, we might just have to do a panoramic of both our shots.....;)

I like the black background-more mysterious.....
