"Since beginning my work as consultant to Worlds Inc. COF was funded on
credit cards and overdrafts. COF made just enough money to allow us to
operate out of my parent's garage and keep our server up. Shamus worked for
extremely minimal pay and his fiancé sold off savings bonds to finance his
groceries. Ellen and I were never paid a dime.
I had several side jobs to support the little shop we had going and we
worked around the clock to make sure it stayed alive. Worlds was never able
to pay us and instead we rolled the money they owed into an initial purchase
bid when they went
under. With the small amount we had in savings and credit cards we struggled
to keep our end alive. When the owner of the world Atlantis, JP, came on
board, he also put in his own money and never received payment. Several
times we were running to the bank to make another transfer from savings or
checking into the company account so that the checks we had sent out
wouldn't bounce.

We didn't do this with the knowledge that the coming years would bring
about the dotcom revolution or that we would ever get any investment at all.
We didn't do it to be rich.

We did it because we loved AW and wanted to keep it alive."

That needed to be said a very long time ago.

that was said to make us feel simpathy with them, it's just a trick... and I
uncovered a few flaws in it... just look at my reply to the original post of
the reply.

ya i read your post.

If you think you can do better, start your own 3d universe.

:)

regarding the price, I'm sorry to tell you Mr Noll, but you kinda forgot
that you have to pay 70 dollars the first year... and I'm not sure you
tought about us foreign users (outside the U.S. that is), the US Dollar is
high, so for me that am living in Norway a P20 world (with only 5 users)
will cost me exactly 1000NOK (Norske Kroner, our currency) the first year,
wich is quite a lot... about £100 that means... Also, your Lead Programmer,
Mr. Villet, has expressed that he doesn't think he gets all what the
community wants (and that he could do) trough the management, wich is a bad
sign.

*hopes Rick Noll will read this or get it forwarded*

Ugh... "If you think you can do better" is a pathetic way of saying stuff...
Anyway, E N Z O has allready started a 3D universe, and he can do better,
and I pointed out that he hasn't done all that good, even though he thought
it, because his viewpoint is different from mine.

And the source of this is...? Regardless, while Rick may not have been greedy initially, he and his butt buddy JP sure as fuck are now!

see my comments to your comments, your flaws dont hold up, the maths is
completely wrong.. again:) You are the only one trying to propogate a
trick by deliberately quoting erroneous conversion rates to make it look
like you have got an argument.

As mentioned elsewhere in this thread, if you can do better do it, but I
suspect all you can really do is whine.

You obviously dont know the history of AWCOM, and are not prepared to learn
it.

I know that you worked for them... I know a lot of stuff, but how do you
know I don't know? You can't know that. And you don't know what I know
either, so that was stupid to say.

Yes.

I felt it was necessary to make sure everyone here saw this post. It
describes the sacrifices made for the citizens of AW. Sometimes, it seems
to me that people are unappreciative. E N Z O doesn't whine his hardships
to us every day. Instead, you go to COFMeta and see a big SMILE E N Z O
LOVES YOU sign with a happy face every day.

To tell you the truth, I've gone to COFMeta many times (more than I can
count on two hands) to make sure the sign is still there. Sometimes, I
wonder if one day AW will be so big and E N Z O will be long gone that the
sign will disappear. A sad day that will be.

They arte not greedy even now, you jsut dont get it do you.

And the proof? Rick wrote that letter, and I think he did a good job of
addressing Goobers concerns.

Oh hang on, I'm filters arnt I Eep? or was that just you just talking
through your....guess we'll see if you reply to this huh ? =)

Anyways, Rick and Tom did a good job I believe of addressing Goobs' letter,
they discussed it quite a bit, and I talked to Tom about it alot. I hope you
guys can see a little more maybe of where things are coming from.

Its like I said - before I started working for the company, alot of my ideas
of it were distorted, and, having worked there for a year now, I have to
say, things are really not what a dissedent few think them to be...there is
alot of love for this product in the company, and alot of love for the
community, I think the only reason that many people dont see it, is because
they are too busy bagging the things that the company *doesnt* do - which is
fair enough, there IS alot we dont do, but we try our hardest every
day....and we are only human.

So, lets see if I really AM filtered huh ? =)

hey Fletch - I wish you would reply to my support emails as quickly as you
reply to newsgoups postings.

We are getting constant errors "Building Inspector: Unable to store changes!
Check server for possible
full disk or write-protected file(s)." in 90% of cases when trying to build
and the only consistant part of the error is in always occurs in some places
and not in other places.

We've also discovered new files created on the Unix server "CTSTATUS.FCS
"and "cell.mir". CTSTATUS.FCS is growing bigger and bigger as new entries
are added into it... and the entry is related to the unsuccessful attempts
to build.

actually it's not kah.. i agree with it completely..

...like everything else this industry lives off of "don't like it, go somewhere else" which is the basis of all competition.. it is a
VERY valid statement, and I agree with it. If you don't like it, leave it. ..But you don't leave it.. so you must like it :-)

That is so one-sided.

This is the exact proclimation I have been making with regards to AW "not listening"

How do you know that they don't listen? Simply because they don't respond? BAH! You people make me sick, some times..

Yes, I remember that sign way back when.. You could go to Meta and see it.. and occasionally E N Z O, If I remember correctly there
was a night he'd spend there, and we'de make an event of it, that was wonderful *sigh* now it seems he's too busy, but we have the
memory, we have the sign.. :-)

Bleh, we all know that this is just a guilt trick to make us feel sad for
bashing enzo and the rest of the AW management because they ignore their
home customers in favor of the corporate customers who have more money, yeah
so I guess since I'm only paying for E N Z O to sleep in his chair all day
I'm no much better than an ant to them or something...
