I have a quick question.. does it mean anything particular when someone
prefaces their post with [NGS] or other variations? Thanks in advance.

Kind of, but it doesn't apply to you. NGS stand for NewsGroup Survivor.

The little preface [NG Survivor] or [NGS] means that the post and the
ensuing thread all have something to do with the Newsgroup Survivor game
we're playing right now. It helps as a warning that the post is somewhat
off-topic and anyone not wishing to waste their newsreading bandwith can
choose NOT to open it. For everyone else, it shows that something is going
on in the game whenever a post is posted.

For more information, go to
http://www.active-worlds.co.uk/survivor/ngsurvivor.html It should clear the
game up if you're still curious. But I think all you were asking for was
what it meant. :))
