this site is beliave is Eeeps...i was looking at his improvements page and i

weird just to vote?

Doesn't look shadey at all to me. I quote his HTML.
<form method=post action=mailto:enzo at activeworlds.com enctype=text/plain>

Mails directly to enzo at activeworlds.com and nowhere else. The reasoning for this password is to allow E N Z O himself to see that we
want PROOF of all these users they supposedly have and to give him assurance that we aren't stuffing ballots. Probably won't pay
much attention, but just as well.

And who's secure server is this that's collecting this data and emailing it?
You couldn't get me to do that form. Why not just put an email link and
allow people to fill in their own info on the matter and send it. Sounds
alot more secure to me that way.

I can see the form. There are many such forms like that in use on the
internet. The reason for NOT doing a email yourself are many
And one of them has to do with the email subject headers...
what i suspect is he has some form of web scripting software in use that
directs all properly created emails to a specific location & counts the
names & other such info in a control manor. But using your OWN creation
and not his scripted forms method cn be a real pain in the rear. Imaging
getting say 200 emails and all of them have some form of subject header.
Now sort out someones tricks...
My name is blah blah
Or name: blah blah
or Gues what..... My name is this blah & my last name is BLAH...
do that about 200 times or more and you really want to shoot someone
really fast... I know what that is like with older non scripted software
OR badly scripting email software...
And I know that it is a royal pain to fix it sometimes...
So NO.... that is not funny at all & i fill alot of that out at some
website all the times. The only thing that gets me STEAMED is...
these idiots don't seem to get it right...
They should have their script call for the DEFAULT email instead of
pointing their email script at my outlook express email...
Then i have no choice but to hand do it to what they want using my
DEFAULT email program = FOX EMAIL.

It's IMPOSSIBLE with that HTML implementation for anything to be collected directly from the HTML. Eep does not own that server to
my knowledge, it is provided by a hosting company.

Lara owns it, actually, but I have no control over the form results since they are sent to Rick (Enzo) and not me. If anyone would intercept the email it would be tnlc.com's server or some router in between, but who would give a shit? That vote has been finished for years, too, but I just haven't bothered to take it down or change it. The other non-secure vote has been much more popular.

I'd trust Eep a long time before I trusted most people in AW.

PS- If Eep's a SNERT then he's got to be my favorite one... ;-)

After checking the site out - its very confirmed that the votes did/and will
go to Enzo. The form field has a mailto:enzo at activeworlds.com and there were
no other hidden fields

Someone's a parnoid maniac. Go away if you're afraid. You give your password to post on this news server, it's easy to intercept it
if you want to. Same process as intercepting your password as you login to AW, log into your email, whatever. Know what your talkin
about before you whine about it. Stupid junodome newbie.

At the time there WAS a reason--to show Rick that we were serious about voting.
