I was in AWshow world the other day and saw a picture and sign with SG-1 world on it as one of AW's "showoff" worlds but it said it's a private world and, of course, wasn't even in the world list (and hasn't for days now). I was wondering if anyone here had ever been into it or even seen it listed? I'd like to check it out. Who owns it? AWCI is no help (as usual).

Well, I've found many Stargate/DHD objects but they're WAY too complex for real-time rendered environments like AW. One was 400,000 polygons--uh...no. Plus they're not based on actual specs/dimensions/blueprints so they're just guesses (sure, most look damn good, but still...). I've been looking for actual measurements for months now and have only been able to find an approximate diameter of 20-22', which doesn't help much. I've emailed MGM, Showtime, and various 3D model creators, game level designers, scale model sites/artists, Stargate movie propmakers, etc, etc, but no help. I just can't believe it's this much work to get such information!

I have a crappy Stargate and DHD in Hole world just west of GZ if anyone's interested. It even works (teleports to Cubed).

I asked E N Z O about it a few days ago, and he told me that they did it for
Fandom. Thats all i know :-).

Thanks. After probing Josh C. for more info, it seems Fandom couldn't get a license for Stargate SG-1 (what SG-1 world is based on, for those who don't know) and so had to close the world. Seems odd Fandom would request a world created based on something they don't have a license to, but whatever... And it's not in Fandom's universe either (which is dead for all intents and purposes--no surprise to me since I don't agree with the other-universe idea--too inconvienent to access other universes, etc).

Anyway, after I get my Stargate and DHD finished I'd like to create a network of Stargate-linked worlds (basically just teleports to other worlds). I would give away the Stargate and DHD models/textures/sounds to those who would like to participate, of course. I'm still working out all the details of how it would work (cell data considerations, would a bot need to control the process, etc), so stay tuned...
