Look at
AWLD's balance sheet and compare both its long- and short-term debt to its competitors'. Also look
at how the debt/equity ratio has changed over time.

AWLD's 1 year ROA is 397.76% lower than the industry average, which may indicate that AWLD
has not used assets as successfully as its competitors have.
AWLD's 1 year ROIC is 715.66% lower than the industry average, which may indicate that AWLD
has made poor use of its debt and equity capital. Also examine AWLD's debt/equity and earnings
growth to see how debt and earnings are affecting this ratio
AWLD has posted a loss for the last twelve months. A company's P/E ratio is undefined when its
earnings are negative. Look at AWLD's price/sales ratio in comparison to its competitors' to see if
strong revenues can justify AWLD's stock price. Also look at AWLD's financial statements for a
detailed explanation of AWLD's losses.

AWLD's price/sales (P/S) ratio is 95.50% lower than the industry average, which indicates that
investors are buying AWLD's revenue at a significant discount. This may be an indication of lower
margins (ability to convert sales to earnings) or below-average sales growth. Compare profit margin,
revenue growth and price/earnings to the industry to get a broader sense of how AWLD is valued in
comparison to its competitors.

AWLD's price/earnings/growth (PEG) ratio is undefined. If a company has posted a loss for the
trailing 12 month period, or expects zero or negative earnings growth for the next year, then the PEG
ratio cannot be computed. Look at AWLD's financial statements for details about AWLD's losses.

Walk through: If we assume initial earnings of $-100,000 grow at a rate of 16.92%, and we discount those future
earnings at a rate of 20.00%, we arrive at a net present value for the company's next 10 years of earnings of $0. To
account for potential earnings beyond the 10th year, we estimate a growth rate of 6.00%, a discount rate of 12.00%,
and we arrive at a continuing value of $0. To complete the calculation we add these two figures together, subtract the
long-term debt for AWLD ($0), and divide by the outstanding shares (8.55 million) to get a per share intrinsic value of
n/a.

now i think aw needs to get people to register... hell maybe free cits one month to get people into it.. theyll be bound to renew....

now i didnt find one good comment on aw here.... how is aw gonna stay afloat if they make no money in a whole quarter? i mean cmon 800 worlds and they still dont make money? or is E N Z O going out partying every day lol
all i know is half my contcts list is gone because of people leaving aw.. and i was about to leave myself untill i got a world and met new people
and where will we all go without our *wonderful* AW?

[View Quote] wingApr 13, 2001, 1:55am
About half a month ago (I think, time is just a blur in my mind) I posted a rumor about AWLD going bankrupt within a month. This
stuff looks REALLY pathetic, and is potentially the first really definite sign that I was right-but the timing was wrong. I doubt AW will survive to see another christmas-my citizenship sure won't. [View Quote] nick dangerApr 13, 2001, 3:28am

You guys are nuts. The company has three million dollars in cash.
Revenue has almost tripled, and losses are down from a million a year to $105,000 a year. They can lose $105,000 a year for more than thirty years before running out of cash. There's no bankruptcy called for here... this is fairly healthy young company. Compared to most dot-coms, this one is almost solid. $105K loss for the year is a nit. jfk2Apr 13, 2001, 4:26am
Awwww..... That is really sad to hear. I would love to see AW
survive forever. But i know some people would love to see AW die off in a way. The people that might like to see AW die are those that are out for blood. They want to see all the World Wars[Broadway vs NewYork] end and what better way than to see AW die. But i was part of that war too. And i am one of many that don't want to see the famous Worlds At War [Broadway vs NewYork] end if it means AW must die. Yes i was a part of that war. But i don't mind seeing the two huge worlds there. And amybe they [the owners of both worlds] could simply learn some peace & harmony before AW was ever to die. wing <bathgate at prodigy.net> wrote in <3ad678b3$1 at server1.Activeworlds.com>: >About half a month ago (I think, time is just a blur in my mind) I >posted a rumor about AWLD going bankrupt within a month. $3 million doesn't mean very much, especially if they get left in the dust by competitors. They have more than enough cash to hire a
dozen programmers to modernize the program, buy some RELIABLE frickin servers and maybe do some quick TV spots on major networks (cNet, where I originally saw them several years ago is NOT a major network). Might blow $2 million but that leaves them a nice solid reserve, puts them on the modern level and gives the people that hang around long enough for AWCI to get a clue a new set of better products and services. Well, apparently, AW may be solid, but I don't think they think they're
secure enough to invest any more extra money for better perks, especially when the need is not really urgent yet. AW is still up there in the cool-and-not-outdated-yet level. :) I mean, better perks may be good for longstanding customers, but I'm thinking they need a larger influx of newbies before they can blow off 2/3 of their money on tv advertisements and new programmers. Well, this makes sense in my mind, I don't think I'm wording it right though. Basically, get more people to join, give them a gaining quarter or at least decrease losses even more and they'll pay you back. I mean, AWCOM's slowly going down the whole and you want more? Kinda selfish if you ask me. Nornny [View Quote] facterApr 13, 2001, 11:53am

I hope so :oP Anyway I guess the hardest creature to defeat will be the mighty eep..... hehe... Fox Mc Cloud ananasApr 13, 2001, 9:00pm

Illuminti is already a collectors card game, and it was out way before
magic, and is, imho a much much more interesting game that magic - which just went way too commercial =) Its a Steve Jackson game - same guy that bought you alot of the fighting fantasy books and things like car wars and such....it even has a set of card for the Church of the Subgenius , its great =) F. nick dangerApr 15, 2001, 2:36am

Yeah, we know that. They lost $105K. That was in the first
note. $105K is just not that big a number. I do not understand why, but there are people around here who would just love to think that AW will die any minute. eep has been doing this as long as I've been here. Every month he's got another contender that's gonna blow AW out of the water, Real Soon Now. Say what you want about McCormick and Noll, they're still here... and the other guys are dead. eepApr 15, 2001, 4:09am
I do? <chuckle> Hardly, sport. By my recollection only about 5 or so programs have even had a SMIDGEON (OPT) of a chance in competing with AW. So far they've all blown it, with Adobe Atmosphere the latest failed attempt. I doubt Neverwinter Nights will affect AW much, but more and more games are implementing real-time "level editing" so it's only a matter of time before an online, real-time UnrealEd/WorldCraft-level program comes along...
Meanwhile, how's AW's development been over the years? Not much, actually. It develops at a SNAIL'S pace compared to REAL 3D games (which AW is a pathetically dismal excuse for). Keep trying, AWCI...you may just get it some eon... [View Quote] [View Quote] jfk2Apr 16, 2001, 10:03pm
