You have to know the language before you can program.. and if ur a
beginner.. use VB.. and u need a compiler if u dont have one..

I think you will find that starcube.vr needs help with the basics of VB. He
has VB and asked me for help. But, I am really not a good teacher of VB, so
if someone could help him get started in VB i'm sure he would be very
thankful.

I think that a reply with simply the SDK page is extreamly rude, who do you
think you are agent1?!?

How is it rude to provide a link to a very good resource on bot programming? I don't care if they're using VB, it's a good place to learn the concepts behind the SDK.

Surely the assumption in this NG HAS to be that someone knows one end of a
suitable programming language from the other in order to be able to use ANY
SDK, not just the AW SDK.

Personally, I read "i have no idea of how to make a bot" as asking how to
interface with AW, and Agent1 supplied a link to the latest info on that
subject. What's the problem?

Starcube ... your best off learning VB 'by example' from the web (or from a
good book) and suppliment that, if you're lucky enough to find someone with
the time and patience, with some "mentoring" from someone who knows it well.
Read some of the other threads ... there seems to be loads of people
throwing bot code around in VB.

[View Quote] Considering his broken english, I don't think many people feel like teaching
him English, VB and the SDK simultaneously. And you need to know them all if
you want to program bots in VB.

I recommend Borland C++Builder. It is very visual (Ironically more so than
Microsoft's Visual C++ which is a little cheaper but in no way better
value), in several ways like VB and loads of fun to use, and easy to learn.
Took me about 3 months to get it down pat, and I already knew some C but
thats fairly easy too :-) I recommend Sams Teach Yourself Borland
C++Builder in 21 days fo learning.
