All the talk about who should've or shouldn't have been on this closed beta
list has got me thinking. :) Let's say YOU were Roland. Don't shiver or
laugh like that, it's figurative. And let's say you had UP
TO...umm....probably 20 people that you can invite to beta test. Who would
be on that list and why? Just a curious thought, it might make for a good
awnews.com article. :) *subtle but just as shameless plug, Goober King's
monthly article is published now at awnews.com*

PS. I'll choose to disregard anyone's post who would to pick ME as a beta
tester (rotfl at the thought).

1) Eep (Obvious reasons
2) Nathan (Technical expertise)
3-20) Determined through applications
Not my friends like certain lamers here. Not even my girlfriend since her
comp is lame as hell and she doesn't know her way around the thing. I would
NEVER go to a global beta either. There would be a point where no experience
is neccessary though, but all hardware profiles would be kept on file and
people that don't know whats on their comuter-well, tough. Also, people that
attempted to steal the beta software once before wouldn't get on the program
at a later date.

I think Mentioning Eep as a beta-tester would be feeding his ego a bit
much? Everyone tends to do that too much around here, hehe. But I'd
agree on the application process. Maximizing the platform range would
definitely be a priority.

agent...

Step 1: Take some English classes
Step 2: Fix your shift key (it seems to go off all by itself sometimes making those nasty caps go all over the place) :¬)

Besides those already on the beta, I'd have to say:
1. Eep - Enough said. Do I need to go into more detail?
2. 2MuChCoFfEe - For personal reasons. =)
3. 00RUSS - A great friend and programmer of mine. Too bad he doesn't
have a 3D card to use the AW 3.1 beta though. ;oP Maybe he'll get on the
AW 3.2 beta...
4. Lanezeri - One of my good on-line friends. He may be annoying
sometimes and pick unwanted fights, but he's actually more intelligent
than the newbies who have been posting to these forms lately (come
on...he really isn't that bad) and isn't afraid to speak his mind.
5. XelaG - Two years of bot programming? He deserves it (if he isn't on
the beta already).
6. John Viper - He seems to have his head on straight.
7. Grover - Just let him on for Pete's sake. Just take a look at any of
his avatars/objects. ;)
8. Tyrell - Another old timer who would probably be a great beta tester.
9. Myself - Why? Well, for starters, I've been a citizen of Active
Worlds ever since 1995 (even longer than Eep has been a citizen). I know
how to build, I host both bots and worlds, I'll be creating several bots
in the coming months, I know how to submit quality beta reports, I have
mutliple computers to test the beta on, and I was the one who came up
with the name ImaTowns and gave permission to Ima Genius to use it. =)
10. Anyone that owns their own galaxy server or their own universe - So
they know what's ahead and what's to come.
11. Datedman/Dataman/DM's Ghost (Russell Freeland) - Eh, why not? For
"good old times sake." :)
12. All of my old on-line friends I lost back in 1996 - If they saw AW
now, they would kill to be on the beta.

First off, I would like to announce that only ONE single person would make
the beta list if I were Roland. This is the ONLY person one would need to
find bugs in a program during a closed beta. I think everyone will agree
with me when I say Agent Fox Mulder would be the perfect pick. His vast
knowledge of Active Worlds and all that surrounds it far surpasses that of
anyone in the AW Community. Citizens like Ima Genius, Faber and XelaG all
learned valuable lessons from Agent Fox Mulder's AW and programming smarts
to become what they are today. Agent Fox Mulder, being the caring and
compassionate guy he is, helped people like AlphaBit Phalpha and Daphne to
come from a smart-talking vandals to caring AW citizens with one hell of a
";)" He gave building lessons to Lara, LittleBull, Dreme Lojyk and Omega. I
also heard that Agent Fox Mulder was the one who introduced "teleporting" to
AW. Come to think of it, what would the AW Community be like without Agent
Fox Mulder, who have made our CyPac? Who would coordinate the Cy Awards? Who
would post all the useful information that everyone wants to know into the
newsgroups? Just think about it for a minute. Agent Fox Mulder is the
perfect man for the job. His technical skills are amongst the best. He has
community spirit busting out at all the seams. No one would be better for
that job, and I think you would all agree.

Yours sarcastically...Syntax. :-P

Btw, you can choose whoever is IN beta at the current moment also. :) Not
just people who were "jipped". Btw, don't post in the subject either or in a
text file like Agent Fox did, which was strange. it felt like I was in a BBS
system for a second. :)

BAHAHAHA. You just hit the figurative nail on the head. If only someone
would actually hit him on the head...

| 1. Eep - Enough said. Do I need to go into more detail?

He is usually annoying but he knows the software probably better than ANYONE.

| 2. 2MuChCoFfEe - For personal reasons. =)

She is one of the best (and most frequent) builders I have ever seen, and she can do anything with
textures. EVERY problem with textures would be reported by her!

| 4. Lanezeri - One of my good on-line friends. He may be annoying
| sometimes and pick unwanted fights, but he's actually more intelligent
| than the newbies who have been posting to these forms lately (come
| on...he really isn't that bad) and isn't afraid to speak his mind.

At least he knows what to and what not to capitalize...

| 5. XelaG - Two years of bot programming? He deserves it (if he isn't on
| the beta already).

Definitely

| 6. John Viper - He seems to have his head on straight.

Hehe :-) aww shuchs... Actually I am a bit peeved and selfish feeling ("I WANT THE BWOWSER!!!!!!
WAAAAAAAAH!!!") that I was not competant or involved or whatever enough to be on Beta

| 7. Grover - Just let him on for Pete's sake. Just take a look at any of
| his avatars/objects. ;)

Plus, before the Uniserver idea, wasn't he citizen 1?

Lol

| 10. Anyone that owns their own galaxy server or their own universe - So
| they know what's ahead and what's to come.

Gotta disagree here -- if we followed this idea then EVERY paying cit should be on beta. Maybe a
"Preview Release" browser, but not necessarily the beta test program.
