Question Time // Communitygoober kingDec 31, 2000, 3:57am
Ok, it's late, I'm bored, and curiosity has gotten the better of me.
Since our little newsgroup "family" has seemingly increased significantly over the past couple months, I'm curious to know how it is all the "newbies" managed to stumble upon this little slice of AW. So for all you new people, (by "new", I mean people who just started posting here after November 1st, 2000) please humor a goober and reply to this thread explaining how you found the newsgroups. It'd certainly be more refreshing to read than flame attacks, don't you think? :) -- Goober King Curiosity killed the goober... many times. rar1 at acsu.buffalo.edu sw comitDec 31, 2000, 4:37am
I found the newsgroup about 6 months ago, from the link on Mauz's website.
I have no idea how I found her website though. Acauly mabey I do, since her website is in relation with all the AW pictures (like for doors), I think I stumbled to it, hehe...but now I'm getting sidetracked. syntaxDec 31, 2000, 4:52am
I found the newsgroups quite a while back on the Activeworlds website. I've
mostly just came in and read the posts and stuff, just to see what was going on in AW from time to time (and to see what Eep had to say, I like his posts :-p). I just starting to post this week actually, so, there's my story... -- Syntax - syntax at earthcorp.com www.swcity.net -- sw comitDec 31, 2000, 5:22am
That works too if you already know what the object is going to look like
before you make it. nornnyDec 31, 2000, 2:26pm
The year went by so quickly I have no comprehension of time and length of
whatever I started, but I think I started posting here halfway through this year. :) I think I just got bored and more into AW so I started searching for newsgroups on it. :) I can remember taking hours trying to figure out how to confiure my Outlook to read it however. :) I believe I also posted within two weeks of just observing the newsgroup. :) Nornny [View Quote] goober kingDec 31, 2000, 5:23pm
Don't you just *love* it when people don't read your post? I said people
who started posting here *after* November 1st, 2000. The only people who should be replying to this thread include, but are not limited to: agent fox mulder, ananas, berserker, captain mad mike, crazy glue il, grimble, joeman, kah, lanezeri, rocknrollwoman, the derek, tony56, trekker, and twisted horizon... Not people who've posted here for 6 months, or a year, or whatever. I just want to know about the *new* people. Is that too much to ask? twisted horizonDec 31, 2000, 11:21pm
I started posting to community within the past *counts days* since 12/16.
How did I find it? As a result of my joining other newsgroups: I've been posting in worldbuilders, bots, and sdk since November '99, and found them because of my world and because I was learning to program bots. -Twisted Horizon [View Quote] tony56Dec 31, 2000, 11:48pm
I've been here longer...

Ahh ok... wasn't sure. I was just scanning names of people who posted
after that and saw yours. Yet another reason why people shouldn't change their names so often. ;) [View Quote] -- Goober King Names, they can be *so* confusilating!! rar1 at acsu.buffalo.edu kahJan 1, 2001, 1:53pm
Wasn't I around before November first?
Well, anyway I was bored and looked in the help tab for what they had put in there and I found a NG topic. That interested me so I tryed it and liked it. I also post to Andras' NGs ( news://news.andras.net ). KAH PS. If you wanna know it all, I use MS Outlook Express v. 4.72. AND I'm KAH and not kah (that the stupid news server calls me). [View Quote] captain mad mikeJan 9, 2001, 12:12am
Me? I can't remember exactly, I think I was browsing the AWCOM site and was
bored so I decided to set up Outlook on these ngs. [View Quote] |
