No graphics downloading (Community)

I didn't use my active worlds account since quite a while. Now I
downloaded 2.2 and renewed my membership. But none of the graphic files succeed in downloading. Just the little pyramids everywhere. And the download window shows that it is starting to download everything in sight, lots of zip files zipping by, but apparently nothing succeeding. I'm on a 192k/s DSL line and connectivity is no problem. But, like probably most DSL connections, my machine is not going to have a reverse IP. Would that be the problem? If your ISP is using DHCP, then you do have an *assigned* IP. You may want to check with your ISP. Now all object downloads are through HTTP so if your web browser works, then you don't have a problem. conoverJan 19, 2000, 7:31pm

<html> Might be a coincidence, but we had the same problem recently -- several weeks ago graphics stopped downloading in all worlds visited. Nothing else had happened to tie in with this on our end -- cache is routinely cleaned and kept under control (we a long-time AW users), no corrupt objects were present anywhere. And -- no amount of cache cleaning, world deleting or other modifying the AW files solved it. <p>In the end I had to uninstall AW and download a fresh copy of the browser :( <p>Rufferto</html> |
