There is a problem when a person is threatened of being booted for talking
about Shitake Mushrooms. Something really needs to be done in the Gate,
guys.

I have never seen it spelled like that. and I looked up Shitake, it is
spelled both ways. Look in a dictionary

Couldn't you think of soemthing better to tlak about. I don't understand
the problem some people have when they are told not to discuss certain
subjects - as they might lead to debates, swearing etc.

It sounds to me like someone only wanted to talk about something because
they wanted to push the limits of the G rating. I'm wrong?

Actually, no. We were talking about food. I was talking about a dinner of
the chinese, Beef and Broccoli. But instead of Broccoli, it was with
shitake mushrooms (or shiitake).

According to the following resources there is no entry to be found for
shitake- all queries refer the searcher to shiitake.

Yes, it is often seen as shitake- because it is being misspelled. - The
pronunciation for the word is (she'e-tä'ke) The English language doesn't
have a character to represent the phonetic sound of e'e (hence the ii) .
The word is an English representation of a Japanese word deriving from the
term for mushroom (shi-oak-take)

My point is and was - don't blame the customs aide or the GKs. For heaven's
sake, use common sense. The word the system and the GKs look for is "shit" ,
flat out, and it/they boot/warn for that language. If a chatter can't spell
correctly, or can't hold a conversation fit for a g-rated area - that's the
chatter's problem, not theirs. It's the chatter's responsibility to monitor
their conversation, their spelling, their tone, their attitude, and their
conversational content and find appropriate venues for their discussions.
The GKs and the CA are there to spare the rest of the visitors from having
to listen to inappropriate conversations. The presence of CA/GKs and the
rules of the Gate are a debate long ago settled, and part of the agreement
one makes with the AW universe to participate in that world's community.

So, to address your initial issue - the GKs/CA have no quarrel with your
discussion of Asian cuisine, and you weren't warned/booted for discussing
fungi. The warning/booting came from the failure to spell the word
correctly and thereby triggering the system's awareness for any derivative
of the Anglo-Saxon term "shit".

Lucrezia (the one who made up the original list of words that the GKs/CA use
as a reference/programmed triggers)

No where in the rules does it say that I cant talk about food. A name is a
name, sorry if I misspelled it. But it wasnt EVER mean to push anyone's
buttons, or push the limits. I was only talking about a dish I had made
that was delicious. I even provided a link to the recipe to her to prove I
wasnt being rude (with shitake spelled that way!). So no, it wasnt mean to
push the rules.

You can't do much about the customs aide bot, but GK's should know how to
differentiate between shitake and the other word. :) That's common sense,
too. Hehe.

Well alot of people would just use the word Shitake to say the other
word,so they cant tell if your just disguising it or what your doing.....

fake adjective made up to express anger at people and try to get away with swear
words (especially if the person hasn't really caused trouble before) then you need

and the one I used was meant "all of you" or "anyone" bascially.
