I've had pretty good luck asking questions here... so I'm going to ask yet
another :) I recently won a temporary world upgrade in bingo and it was
enabled a few days ago. I have 2 worlds on my server.. and the world I put
the upgrade on won't allow me to make a prodump, the object number count
never stops increasing. The atdump and elevdumps are fine.. and the other
world dumps work totally fine. I have had a corrupt server before and this
is nothing like that was.. I tried to make a prodump tonight with an xelagot
and here's a picture of what is happening..
http://geocities.com/redgarnet22/web/prodump.jpg as I write this the
object count is now up to 33000 .. now I know I love to build .. but... :)
has anyone else who won a bingo extension had this problem..? The actual
count of objects according to my world server is 11502. Anyone have any
suggestion? :) thanks Garnet

I've never seen this before and it sounds really weird that your object
count would keep inceasing, even when no one is building.

Try stopping the world first (with the admin tool), then try to take a
propdump of it.

You might also contact AW support (support at activeworlds.com), though I doubt
they'll be of much help.

[View Quote] Judging from the picture you refer to, it is either XelaGot broken or you got some HUGE world (8000+ coords at east).
Did you try a propdump from the admin utility? <you said the server is on your puter so you should have access to it>
Ops - I just see you did try it. It is one of the corruption I'm getting regularly on an NT box (never on a Linux one).

My recommendation is the following:
Stop the world server.
Windows:
Open a dos box and go to the server's folder.
Type: utils/propdump > propfile.txt
Linux:
go to the server's folder
type ./propdump > propfile.txt

If the propfile.txt contains garbage or the propdump fails, use the -s option for recovering:
propdump -s > propfile.txt

if you are happy with the dump (it contains both of your world!!), use the propload < propfile.txt command
This action will clean up the corruption.

If this did not resolve the problem:
Do the atdumps and elevdumps to have them backed up.
Delete the cell.* and sector.* files
try the propload < propfile.txt again.

When I make Dumps of each world ---pro,elev,at--- I right click on each
world name in the server and give each dump save a unique name so the 2
worlds don't intertwine. That's why this is so puzzling.. one world .. all 3
dumps work fine.. the other (with the temp upgrade).... the "at and elev"
appear to work fine.. its just the pro Dump that is screwed up.. and that
same prodump also is screwed up using an xelagot to try to make one.. I
will try your suggestion .. although I hate dos :) scares the begeebies outa
me hahaha :) and I will also try to email aw and see if its something I hope
they can fix :) thanks both of you Garnet
