I would suggest you read this. It is a privacy issue with kazaa and a
bandwidth and processing power stealing company known as Brilliant.

*shrug* it's not a virus and it only uses the excess power and bandwidth,
which means you would never notice a thing. Your computer wouldn't run any
slower or any more unstable. It's good marketing. Also, if you read the
article, you'll notice that it hasn't started to be used yet. When it
starts, there will be a place in the settings to allow your computer to do
this or not. I assume they'll give you special privelages for doing it
otherwise noone would. Also, people who don't know about this will have it
on by default. It's very good marketing and a good use for their program.
It's perfectly legal. At least that part is, I'm not sure about the file
sharing laws that exist on that portion of the program :-P

I suggest winMX to all of you who are leaving Kazaa though.
www.winmx.com

It's not nearly as pretty as the kazaa software, but it's certainly useful,
has more features, and doesn't lag as much on slower computers.

search for AD-Aware on somewhere liek download.com

run that, it will detect all known spyware. Dunno if brilliant is on there
though

Perfectly, legal, but they still do it without your knowledge, which if I'm
mistaken is something a lot of folks around here don't particularly like
(referencing 7 accusations against AWC).

In fact, I don't like it. Who said they could get something for free that I
bought or am paying for? Absolutely not. I'll stick with WinMX. No way
they are going to take advantage of me.

in your Windows system dir there is a DLL called cd_client.dll, delete it,
it's part of Cydoor, spyware stuff... also stuff in the registry from KaZaA
and Cydoor, just delete everything in the registry containing those words
(use regedit).

uhh.... ok. lol.

The fine print determines the users rights in using the software, not the
companies, but I see where you're going with it. :)

btw.. my last message? the 7 in the "7 accusations against awc" part should
be deleted. typo that.
