I was just thinking about how much ruckus this whole thing has created.

All of a sudden, every single AW citizen is in uproar. Some are in
agreement, saying that AW has needed this for a long time, and good
riddance to the tourists. Some are in flat disagreement, believing
that, for certain, AW will cease to exist within the next week because
everyone will pack up shop and leave, and that changing ANYTHING was the
very worst idea ever thought up. And then there are the in-betweens,
who believe that a price restructuring has been required for a long
time, but increasing the amount we pay yearly by $100 yearly is pushing
the limit and then some.

Wouldn't it be so funny if tomorrow, ENZO sent a telegram to everyone
saying "I didn't get ya last year, and I felt like making up for it.
So, APRIL FOOLS!!!" (if you havent heard of april fools... its a silly
thing over here in the States at least. April 1 is April Fools day, you
are supposed to play pranks on people on April 1. Stupid, eh?)
Seriously though. Every single citizen is up ranting and raving. I
don't dare enter the AW Gate, it is for certain overrun with complaints
and this and that and very much of the other.

Now, think of all the web sites that could spring up from all this,
though. Everything from hate sites to photo albums so that people can
remember their builds and their good times. (I wish I had taken more
screen captures in the good ol days...) Search engines everywhere will
be filled up with Active Worlds this and Active Worlds that, and
innocent bystandars will wthout a doubt be able to figure out that you
can go to www.activeworlds.com to check out what all the hub-bub is
about. Then people come in, find that they really like it, and become
citizens, and all of a sudden AWC has WAAAAAY too much money, Mr. Noll
decides to lower prices, and everyone lives happily ever after :-)

[View Quote] Let's just cross our fingers and hope, shall we? There isn't much else
anyone can do at this point. I just got off the phone with AWCorp... they
really didn't want to do this. I'll give them that.
