The source article is at
> http://www.indymedia.org/front.php3?article_id=63454&group=webcast It is already a repost. There is no proof for the facts described in this article there, so everyone should make up his own mind. There is one thing quite strange about indymedia.org, they do not have a whois record. Decide yourself what you can believe and what you doubt, I tend to doubt many things that the press tells me in the last few days and try to find other sources with more informations. Especially I believe that the press does not send all informations and often found more informations by just trying links (www.kreml.org was disappointing, nearly no english pages there). -- "_ | /\ \ / __/ /_ kahSep 14, 2001, 6:39pm
can't say that I believe it... just some stupid ppl that wanna make
trouble... has a videotape from 91, yeah, right! not too much proof in that, but it wasn't nice to eject for it, though... (to Bodhi) and reply to your own thread, don't start another one, and those 12kb of chat log didn't tell us anything, you should've told us what the matter was, but as allways Ananas has the answer :-)) KAH [View Quote] ananasSep 14, 2001, 7:22pm
It was me who sent the first link to Bodhi yesterday, without
commenting if there's proof. It was given to me by a RL-friend. I found some more quite confusing theories about the role of Laden and secret services. But I guess it's better if everyone does the recherches for himself, I don't want to cause more trouble than I already did by sending this de.indymedia.org link to Bodhi and some others. I thought that this link would calm down the hatred against the palestinians - IMO they are not evil, just few of them are. The pictures about the celebrating people were sent in germany at least 50 times on this and I think the press did a bad job. Independant from the truth it was not good to show only these few and not those who were in shock. We had propaganda like this against a race or religion in history and we should all be aware about this sad past. [View Quote] -- "_ | /\ \ / __/ /_ bodhiSep 14, 2001, 7:26pm

I complain because you are being foolish... there wouldn't be much point in
showing false pictures of celebrating folks anyway... AND some Arab world leaders have expressed concerns because of these people, they aren't happy about them, they're just anti-americans, they'll regret it anyway later on... KAH [View Quote] casaySep 15, 2001, 6:25am
I agree 100% Ananas. Not all Palastinians, Muslims, Islamic people or Arabs
as a whole are evil. Just a few of them are. Same goes for some Americans and people all over the world. In responce to the alleged CNN coverage of Palistinians celebrating: I do not understand and never have how people, any people, could have such a hatred for another. I do not understand how any organization or group could justify the killing of inoccent people and call it 'collateral damage'. I can see how recent generations of some of these groups of people would be frustrated, angry, feel abused, have no hope and see us as bullies. It greatly upsets me to hear different groups of people think that this is a terrible tragedy but also think that it's something that's been a long time coming. They do not seem as shocked as I am. I can picture CNN coverage of Americans waving American flags in responce to a military victory. Just try to keep in mind the 'collateral damage' that went along with it. :-( Our recent tragedy unfortunately is a monumental example of things that have been going on all over the world for a very long time. It seems to be a tit for tat game whether it be Israel & Palestine (and most every other Arab nation at one time or another), Great Britian & the IRA, USA and several groups over the years etc... This game needs to stop. I can only hope and pray that somehow, someway, we as a human race decide that terrorism and wars in general only hurts and rarely solves anything. As an American, I do not want the world to think of us as the bullies of the world. I do not want to see my fellow Americans attacking other Americans because they are Muslim or _____ ( fill in the blank) I hope and pray that the lives of those lost in this terrible tragedy will not be wasted and their sacrifice steers us on a course toward a more peaceful and tolerant world. Yes, I have high hopes.... I do not believe that if we go into X country and invade it will solve the overall problems of terrorism. Sure, we could disrupt this network or that but it only drives people further underground and increases the hatred. The only long term solution is to work toward removing the hate that drives it and humanity working together to solve those problems. From a statement in the press today about the world coalition against terrorism that really bothers me.... "If there is an attempt to bring Syria and Arafat into the coalition, then that is a problem," an Israeli official said." Yes, it is a problem if we decide that we are not willing as a world to work together no matter what the past & current differences. Hey, Russia & the USA are doing it! :-) A common goal goes a long ways toward removing hate, building trust and moving forward. This is an unprecedented opportunity for everyone in the world if it's done right. I hope, as an American I can someday say that it was my country that lead the way. end of my .02 Casay snip> [View Quote] kahSep 15, 2001, 10:17am

Tell that to the Talaban, which is going to ground as we speak. This thing
isn't over, and when it finally is, there's going to be a very long and bloody trail behind us. Terrorists are not something anyone has ever tried to eradicate before, and the only way to figure out how to face them is to engage them at point blank range. -_- If there are any Afghans reading this, don't take what the Talaban has said at face value. Its leaders can be just as biased as American leaders. The old saying is true. Power currupts, and those in power may want to do anything to drum up support for their side, including lying to the local populace. Look at how the rest of the world is reacting and look at the facts. Then draw your conclusions from there. The United States and its allies do not want to wage a holy war on Islam. They simply want to strike at terrorism and disorganize it, and destroy it if possible. Terrorists are not Muslims, I'm told by some Muslim leaders here in the US, because they destroy life instead of protect it. SW Chris [View Quote] kahSep 15, 2001, 4:54pm
Taliban sayd they'd attack their neighbouring countries if they support the
US... so we can expect Afghanistan to be blown to pieces, as if they do, the USA and the UN probably will attack, and if they should happen to attack Pakistan (that are very pro USA) they could get nuked too... a bit scary, but since all the big countries that generally are dangereous in a war are on the same side a world war wouldn't really be to fear :-)) KAH [View Quote] wing.Sep 15, 2001, 11:54pm
I don't know if the Taliban realizes this, but ALL their neighbors have
nuclear weapons.... They don't. [View Quote] sw chrisSep 16, 2001, 1:16am
No, only Pakistan has them. That we know of. *grimace*
And Pakistan is not very pro-USA. They're on the fence because there are many pressure groups that are Pro-afghanistan. SW Chris [View Quote] sw chrisSep 16, 2001, 4:56am
Ah good. They gave all their support to the USA for at least the first
retaliation. SW Chris [View Quote] kahSep 16, 2001, 2:26pm
exactly... I can't understand why they rather wanna risk being nuked to
pieces instead of just capturing and surrendering Osama Bin Laden... KAH [View Quote] sw chrisSep 16, 2001, 7:35pm
We're not going to use nukes.. That would definitely initiate World War 3.
But we'll see about Osama. :) Pakistan is sending a delegation on Monday to demand the turning over of Osama bin Laden or face strategic strikes and overthrow of the Talaban. SW Chris [View Quote] kahSep 17, 2001, 1:35pm
maybe not the US... but you have to remember that Pakistan is Afghanistan's
next door neighboor, but I don't think they'd like being attacked very much... KAH [View Quote] sw chrisSep 17, 2001, 1:50pm

We're just supposed to be nice to them, and start cataring to them so they won't hate us anymore? Just because we're the biggest county, doesn't mean we have to use our resources to appease everyone else. No, it's the other way arround. They need to be dethly afraid of pissing us off. Maby if we attack them, and they see we mean business, other countries will be doing more to keep us happy (ie: not killing 6,000 of our people, disrupting our stock market, destorying to 2 landmark building, leaving thousands of childen parentless/wise, husbands widowed... the list goes on....). > From a statement in the press today about the world coalition against > terrorism that really bothers me.... > > "If there is an attempt to bring Syria and Arafat into the coalition, then > that is a problem," an Israeli official said." > > Yes, it is a problem if we decide that we are not willing as a world to work > together no matter what the past & current differences. First off, Jerme, thank you for dredging up a thread that's almost a
month old! We're so appreciative :P Secondly, it must be nice to be a teenager and know everything. Bullying the world into doing our bidding makes us no better than the terrorists. We're not in this to "terrorize" people so they don't attack us anymore, we're in this so that *they* don't terrorize anyone anymore. We're not going in with guns blazing, kicking ass, and taking names; we're doing this discretely, precisely, and methodically, and while it may be a slow process, it will prove the most effective. I'm not saying we shouldn't bring bin Laden and others of his ilk to justice, but going in there thinking that we're the "big bad america" and kicking people around just because we can is *not* the answer.
