AW's Idiot-ness (General Discussion)
AW's Idiot-ness // General DiscussionlanezeriAug 6, 2001, 12:48am
AWSome the new world from AW (at least to me it's new) "Must be 18 or under
to enter" yet you have to be 18 to be an AK.. meaning the AK's can't enter.. AW contradicted themselves in their own welcome message.. nornnyAug 6, 2001, 12:52am
AWSome is an AWC-affiliated world, similar to AWTeen, I believe. :) It's not
AWC controlled as in Alphaworld or Mars, so it's the caretaker of the world's contradiction, not AWC's. :) Nornny [View Quote] sw chrisAug 6, 2001, 1:47am

No.. they said under 18 can enter only.. then the AK (Awesome Keeper) form
said the lowest age to become one is 18.. doesn't make sense.. they contradicted themself.. [View Quote] brandonAug 6, 2001, 1:44pm
well you gotta admit...little kids running aaround and acting as pks wouldnt
be too good....maybe they should have it like... 16-18... [View Quote] sw chrisAug 6, 2001, 5:40pm
In response to that I would probably put forward the explaination that AK's
are an unwritten exception, simply because were the AK's comprised of people under 18, their effectiveness, temperment, and maturity levels would plunge dramatically. They wouldnt' get anything done simply because they wouldn't have the adult real world experience necessary to mediate disputes between their peers. Or, worse yet, the younger an AK is, the more they are incapable of setting aside personal grudges and vendettas when on the job. This is one reason why the official organization, Peace Keepers, limits their membership to legal adults only. I should know, I used to be a PK Trainee. :) Anyways, this whole post is a minor point in the grand scheme of things. I don't think every exception to the rule needs to be spelled out in the welcome message. SW Chris [View Quote] lanezeriAug 6, 2001, 8:32pm

To be very Marcus-like, let me point out that that post was rather calm
sounding. To me at least. =) SW Chris [View Quote] chucks partyAug 10, 2001, 7:46pm
There you go using someone to compare you or someone else to, please stop doing
that, LOL Now the whole intention of the new AWSome world is to get the youngest of users to go there because AWTeen doesn't seem to be a G rated world for those let's say under the age of 13, but it is good they are welcoming those under the age of 18, but I don't think they should be excluding anyone either. I spoke to one of the AK's that works there and they don't seem to like alot of the rules being put in place there, that may very well be one of them. I understand the need for a place like this for AW's youngest citizens but if I want to go in there I should not feel like I am going to be punished for doing so, lol Many times when I am in AW I get people of ALL ages that come to me and ask for my help, wether it be for bldg. or teaching or whatever the case may be. I would hate to think I couldn't do that if someone asked for my help and I needed to go there to help them or to simply talk to a friend at GZ that may happen to be there, afterall I am 33, will be 34 Sept. 8th, lol I think they should simply put that it is a world for young people and leave it at that. The adult presence of course will always need to be there in case there are any problems that arise it can be dealt with. But I don't think they should be excluding people that may want to go and just visit the world to see it by saying, 18 or under only are allowed in this world. It's just not right, lol That would be like AWTeen trying to do the same thing, sheesh I wouldn't be able to promote the AWTeen Cy Awards Party or anything, none of it would have been possible if a rule like this was implemented. So I think they should reconsider using such a blanketed apporoach to encourage our younger AW members to build there. There are adults in this community that very much have the concerns and cares to what's going on with the young people and having safe places to go to, but don't shut us out, we do have alot to offer and much to teach the young people just starting out in AW. and actually I think you took the message out of context, this is it in it's
entirety and no one is going to be ejected based on age. Immigration Officer: Welcome to AWSome. A G rated world, You must be under 18, young of heart, or accompanied by a child to enter. :-) To learn more about AWSome check out............ [View Quote] j b e l lAug 11, 2001, 6:39am
That is so, however since the world has a prefix of AW it does somewhat represent them, perhaps they should pay more caution to whom
they allow to caretake their world's.. [View Quote] lanezeriAug 12, 2001, 7:13pm
