Sticky Objects (Wishlist)
Sticky Objects // WishlistkennethJul 21, 2005, 5:28pm
A great way to line up objects when building would have something called
sticky objects where people can move them and feel them connect to each other. AW can also use this later on whenever we get automobiles and trains to have them "follow" a road or track wherever it goes. -Kenneth legionJul 21, 2005, 6:01pm
Interesting idea. It might also be possible for world owners to define what
objects is used if intersection is made between two roads. Example (just lame one I guess): Define=street2.rwx,astreet2.rwx,bstreet2.rwx street2.rwx = street1.rwx,street3,street4.rwx,street5.rwx,street6.rwx astreet2.rwx = astreet1.rwx,astreet3.rwx,astreet4.rwx,astreet5.rwx,astreet6.rwx bstreet2.rwx = bstreet1.rwx,bstreet3.rwx,bstreet4.rwx,bstreet5.rwx,bstreet6.rwx Side= street2.rwx Ahh, I give up! But those fragments should give you some idea. :p [View Quote] kingsmallguyJul 21, 2005, 9:44pm
An example
Build an invisible track above the road that has the action "create track name=car" and have the car as "create name car" so when you move the car it will move to the nearest object with "create track name=car" this also enables you to have more than one car/track and not interfear with each other [View Quote] ewasxJul 22, 2005, 1:55am
Cool idea! Personally, I'd like to see any kind of system that allows
objects and avatars to sync to the uniserver clock so we could have objects follow us faithfully in warp rides. I wouldn't mind how it can be achieved, as long as it can be done with building commands. [View Quote] |
