Hi everyone:

I'm in the midst of building some houses with garages and if there's a
couple of things I discovered about the current garages that come with
the whole house sections that Lara so graciously made, those things
are....

1). You CANNOT enter the garage using the BUTCH avatar (his head hits
the top of the doorway). Ceilings in the garages need to be RAISED a
little in order to accomondate the taller avatars.

2). There's NO doorway leading from the garage to (at least) the
kitchen area of the house. Why is this? I don't know of a house IRL
that doesn't have a door that one can use to enter and exit the garage
from the house.

Perhaps the house sections that have garages can be revised somehow to
add a doorway and raise the ceiling?

Lara?

Just a couple observations :)

Cheers for now everyone :)

You talking about the prefab objects?
Word of advice...don't waste your time. Those objects suck and were never
originally designed to be released in Alphaworld. Just build your own
garage with regular objects X_X

Even the Harold avatar has room to spare in the thseb3a.rwx garage. Are
you sure it's not partially sunk underground?

Yes, an internal doorway would be nice.

Hi everyone:

[View Quote] >You talking about the prefab objects?

Umm....I believe so, yeah. The ones designed when 3DHPs came out.

Well.....Actually I'm doing quite well with the "prefab" objects and
they CAN work on AlphaWorld if you improvise a little (assuming that
you use the street* line of road objects like I do instead of the
road* line, the latter of which requires the house to be raised in
order to work). I believe Syntax Estates uses these objects too
(unless he swapped 'em all out for "regular" objects).

All I was referring to was the garage portion of those objects. Even
if a doorway isn't added, there's no denying the fact that the garage
ceiling needs to be raised a little in order to accomondate the taller
avatars such as BUTCH and HOTEP. There's nothing wrong with the rest
of it.

Cheers for now :)

I think I know what the problem is. Try propping up the house on a
thsea2.rwx basement object. Works great for me in AlphWorlds.

Nope. Not partially underground. It's right at 0.0 meters.

Have you tried it with the Butch avatar (that the one I always use as
it's the one that best fits me as a person :) ).

>Yes, an internal doorway would be nice.

Indeed it would. :)

Cheers for now :)

Actually...not even sure what your talking now. Just checked out the garage
objects with my hotep avatar and had a whole meter of headroom left. o_O

[View Quote] Yes. The Butch avatar fits nicely into the garage at AW 272N 178E.
(Click the garage door to open it.)

Do you need steps leading up to your front door? I had to add steps
because the thsea2.rwx basement object raised everything up 1 meter.

Try it with the Butch avatar. Navigating around the garage in thseb3a
is okay - once you're inside. But walking in from the driveway is a
completely different ballgame altogether. :(

Cheers for now :)

Uhh Hotep is way taller than Butch. Hotep is actually the tallest avatar,
hence the term used in SW City "hotep compatible" buildings :P

According to Jim1's Measurement checker, Harold is the tallest, but only
1 cm taller than hotep

I have been using those prefab homes for a long time now and truthfully I
enjoy them and craming objects into them with move actions to get all the
furnishings into them. It is not so easy but fun to do. I have several fully
furnished prefab condos I call them heehee. Have experimented with them many
times and often go back to add more or change them.

However it would be nice to have some that were much larger covering more
cell space so you can put more funishings in them. I would be thrilled if
someone made more versions of them only larger with basements also. A two
car garage would be nice. Actually a complete home ready made where all you
do is add the funiture and yard would be so exciting to me. I wish the
present models also had side doors in them so you could connect them
together and have a walk through making them larger. Also it would be nice
if one had a real actic that you could store stuff in.

More than this though I wish aw had the cars, planes and boats that are
found in AWTeen. Now that would be a big improvment.
Guess I'm growing weary of the homemade cheepo looking cars that we all try
to make. I'm also growing weary of the nice condos that we have now. It's
time to give us something more advanced to play with. I think I have tried
every angle and version of them possible. I want more of those and larger
please...castles and mansions too. But I really have enjoyed the ones Lara
made. Gave me many hours of enjoyment in the past.

Perhaps provide the coordinates so we know exactly what you are talking
about
