Able to Increase and Decrease Size of Objects (Wishlist)
Able to Increase and Decrease Size of Objects // WishlistkennethNov 23, 2004, 3:26pm
In the build window, have a drop down menu of how many times the object can
be in size. Maybe starting at 1/4 then 1/2 then 3/4 then 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 and so on. This way people can make much different looking builds with regular panels and roofs and even huge gardens or tiny gardens. Or huge forests, etc etc etc. I hope someday we can have this. -Kenneth --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). If I recall, object scaling was voted the #1 feature request on AW's polls.
It's a great idea, and apparently has the most support :O [View Quote] orbNov 23, 2004, 5:08pm
I think the trouble with the scaling command is about how the objects, once
scaled, may encroach on another's land. bowenNov 23, 2004, 5:14pm

There's one of two ways to do this.
One, grab the original value from the registry, and have the object scale stored in the property database, then use a formula to then determine if the object would encroach in it's new size. Two, store the new registry values per scaled object. I think the registry should be stored in a database such as mySQL and that you could link to remote registries if given permission to. captain mad mikeDec 26, 2004, 4:24am
There's the same problem with move and rotate. Perhaps the world server
could set a "Maximum Scale Factor" for the world, as in no objects can be scaled more than x times the original size. -CMM [View Quote] |
