Have long time wonder why AW use a american rating system, that I hardly can
find any facts about on net. For newbabies from Europe, it must be confusing to understand what "G" or "PG" means. I would suggest/wish that AW use the ESRB rating system, http://www.esrb.org/esrbratings_guide.asp and add age behind the Code, like this: C (3+) E (6+) T (13+) M (17+) A (18+) This would be alot easier for everyone to understand, no matter where you come from. Also easier to gets facts about the rating. -- Tengel www.3D-Nordic.com c pJul 16, 2004, 2:07am
aw should use esrb cuz its a videogame, but the system now works fine too :)
its not the american rating system though just movies :) G -everyone PG -Parental guidance PG-13 -parental guidance and/or age of thirteen R -Restricted NC-17 -Adult X -Pornographic thats the breakdown pretty much, the ratings are given by content, G is like Disney films, PG is like comedies for children with some vulgarity, pg-13 is a little more graphic with maybe some language, or MILD sexual themes. R is adults because of language, sexuality, nudity, and extreme violence. NC-17 is R to a greater extent with mild pornographic scenes. X is straight out sex and porn. http://www.mpaa.org http://www.mpaa.org/movieratings/ [View Quote] strike rapierJul 16, 2004, 6:46pm

Personally I find that there isnt enough proper X rated material in AW...
someone should spend vast quantities of time hunting down the very best online JPG's and creating a P-100 world in AW full of them. Do as the FHM does... say its artistic license! - Mark R lioness.Jul 19, 2004, 11:31am
Probably because AW is stationed in the USA and there are certain guidelines
they MUST follow to operate a website like AW without getting into trouble with American rating laws, etc etc. Penalties could range anywhere from hefty fines to having to shut AW down completely. ;-"D [View Quote] c pJul 20, 2004, 4:15pm
nope :) untrue the rating system aw uses is strictly for movies, and the
internet has no laws as stated :) well then again if there is porno it must be stated prior to, :) 18+ law but other than that and the no child porno rule, and no hacking etc etc, the internet has no laws, because its NOT owned by the USA, :) [View Quote] ubermonkeyJul 21, 2004, 4:48am
Just want to put out a loud "w00t!" of support for this. Let's try and keep
it that way as long as we can, eh? I know there are quite a few government organizations out there which would love to legislate the 'net. That is all. -Monkey [View Quote] |
