Activate options (Wishlist)
Activate options // Wishlistc pJan 3, 2004, 8:00pm
We need a activate command that lets everyone see the action that happens.
:-) EX: Activate rotate 15 time=1 target=all on a door (this would cause everyone to see the door rotate) Also since target is used for url in the command maybe change my idea to -Activate rotate 15 time=1 all. -C P strike rapierJan 3, 2004, 8:14pm
The problem with this is... you would have to have all activates on a
callback so everyone sees them at (roughly) the same time. - MR [View Quote] sweetsJan 3, 2004, 9:05pm
they have something like that at AWSpades....bot controled I would
think....whatever my partner activates I can go over look at his cards or see his bids etc....I close the door he sees it close....not sure if this is what you mean but you may want to go see that program....its really well done sweets tony mJan 3, 2004, 9:18pm
I released a bot some time ago that allows one to have such a system in their world.

*sigh* I know how bots work, I want it integrated into the system though,
why should we have to run a bot just so someone can see me open a door [View Quote] alexthemartianJan 4, 2004, 8:50pm
see what happens when you dont completly explain something. people dont
seem to know that most people would know that common sence bullshit, but yet they still tell it to you like it is a solution.. makes it seems like your a newbie and it gets very annoying [View Quote] c pJan 5, 2004, 6:10pm
well when someone wishes for integration of a feature people shouldn't say
bots can do it. lol [View Quote] sweetsJan 5, 2004, 6:54pm
excuuuuuse me for trying to help. Will make note that you are not interested
in any ideas I may have and are only able to respond in a rude manner....Your loss....maybe one day I may actually know something you wish for. Think I would let you in on it? Heh....Think again, Bud. sweets tart sugarJan 5, 2004, 7:16pm
Ahhhh, yes. I see your point clearly, Alex, and I feel your angst. However,
I'm not sure you fully took into consideration the following conundrum... I know you think you thought what you heard, she meant - but - I'm not sure you realize what she said isn't what you thought. Or visa versa. o_O Tart Sugar I used to be Snow White, but I drifted. [View Quote] alexthemartianJan 5, 2004, 9:04pm
its not just you. it applied to other people, even me sometimes. some
pleople just take a super fast glance and reply with something, and after you have to explain to them again. im not saying you did this.. i just stating it is happening often in the AW ngs. i think it is becuase of the idiotic junk or the flames that we have to scan past that make us reply quick and not take our time and think things over. and i do the same thing sometimes and i know none of what i just said is spacific to any post in paticular. just a general thaught. thats it and nobody is pointing any fingers. i did not understand that at all.. but i think my other replys explain
what i was thinking. [View Quote] > Ahhhh, yes. I see your point clearly, Alex, and I feel your angst. no does not explain anything sorry. I do not simply scan a ng and throw
comments in I have NOT thought about. I was taught to read carefully before signing anything. You tacked that rude note to MY response, therefore insulting me directly. I had not read superfast without understanding. I had also stated that I was NOT sure if this was what you wanted, not expecting to basically be treated as a dumb female that knows nothing. Talk to me like a child as if I had not 'listened to daddy' properly. Sorry but I still consider both response tacked on to my letter as rude and inconsiderate towards someone just trying to maybe help you out. As a world owner for over 3 yrs, master builder and object maker, I may know a little something about aw. No I am not a techie and no wish to be one, but I have learned a few things over the years and have many 'wishes' of my own for here. All you had to say was 'sorry sweets is not what I am looking for' and that would have been sufficient (without the 'sigh') sweets *sighs (LOL) alexthemartianJan 6, 2004, 3:24am

your response to him:
most people would know that common sence bullshit, but > yet they still tell it to you like it is a solution ok you replied to him....and although your letter made absolutely no sense, I did take this statement as being in reference to myself (or others like me as you stated - in general)....and most people do NOT know that 'common sense bullshit' but still have the right to comment or ask questions here in ng without being made to feel like an idiot. This is 'wish' and working together with patience and understanding we can make our wishes come true....snub your nose at people you do not think smart enough and you may just miss out on a 'solution' to a fantastic wish because they thought of something nobody else did. Make people afraid of speaking up because they are not in your tech class closes the door on many of our wishes come true. sweets alexthemartianJan 6, 2004, 9:48pm
i was just pissed off that day, ok.. now lets end this.

Clarification.
people who read the newsgroups reply, and there's allot of stuff like that, if it can be done with a bot I know, being programmer myself. But if I needed a bot id post in the bot news group, wishlist is for things you'd like to see added to AW. Integrated into the software, and I wasn't trying to insult your helpfulness sweets, but anyone who's ever touched a Preston knows you can make things move with bots. What I wanted was for everyone to see it smoothly, whereas with bots it must update the object, use timers, and its a pain. I want it so when I click my door and open it everyone sees it open, or when I jump off my diving board into the pool, everyone hears it splash. or when I play my piano everyone can hear it, without the use of bots. Thanks for your "help" -c p [View Quote] joe.zipJan 29, 2004, 9:48pm
I understand what you mean, about wanting it integrated. Using bots to
do this stuff is to slow. If the command went straight to the person's browser, instead of to a bot to the world server then to the person. Lots of stuff could be done better by integration (scripts anyone). |
