Object Pushing - A MUST!! (Wishlist)
Object Pushing - A MUST!! // Wishlistpython ind.Dec 14, 2003, 7:14am
We must have object pushing... even if it take a new version to make it must
be made.. we can use elevators to actually go up and down.. AW would be alot cooler with this wonderful collision detection in use... wouldnt you all agree? I have already made a Commerical Airliner I HOPE that will fly people around in... I made it an avatar with opening doors and everything.. first class, and coach (for the peons)... theirs even a bathroom that people can use (I'll take a pic when I texture it, add a 2nd floor, and then add the link)... and if you wanna eat theirs a restaurant in the back were you can go and munch away at.. Im gonna add it to be a double decker like the new coming airbus.. on the top will have a piano and their will be a bar up there! hmm ima put myself to real work on the next floor add-on... this is my dream xO for object push to be enabled... Yes...this would help in RPG's where there are floating platforms. As of
now, you would have to move along with the platform to stay on it. With an object sticky command, you could stay on the platform as it moved. python ind.Dec 14, 2003, 4:14pm

Well, some people have already made things where the object has to move
through you, it would be more flexible if it was just a simple command/s (create push, which would simply bump the avatar around I.E. elevators, and create sticky, which would fuse the avatar to the object (unless someone held shift) allowing the object to push or pull the avatar) it would not be that hard to impliment. There is already object push to a certain degree, but you have to keep walking around for the collision detection to occur and for the object to push you. With the added commands, one could simply push a button while they are standing in the elevator, and the elevator would push them upwards (and pull them downwards as well, as right now the avatars would just remain floating in the air if the object moved out from under them.) There would have to be a limit though to make the command vandalism-safe, since you wouldn't want people vandalizing with objects pushing you 10,000 coords in one direction [View Quote] |
