Cell Grid Selection (Wishlist)
Cell Grid Selection // WishlistcalhounNov 21, 2003, 10:12pm
I think that you should be able to select a cell when displaying the Cell
Grid, and it would display on it the amount of objects in the cell and the objects per cell limit so you know when your getting close to the limit -- Calhoun codewarriorNov 22, 2003, 2:51pm
Hear hear... I wished for a readout in the browser in an earlier post, but
this would work. Even if they just told you when you right click to edit an object, how many objects were in the cell at the time you cllicked, it would help. [View Quote] alexthemartianNov 23, 2003, 6:00am
ooo how about a percentage bar (just like a progress bar) that shows how
much % of cell data space is used.. it will be more user-friendly and easier to determine then just numbers (of course maybe the actual nummerica value should be displayed too so you can use it in a more exact way).. and doesnt the action fields and stuff effect the remining cell space.. not just the number of objects? Cells dont get full by the number of objects its by the number of bytes....
You can fit a lot more a.rwx in a cell with no action / desctiopition than you can abcdefghij.rwx with 255 characters of description and action texts. You need to have this displayed not the number of objects if you want to see how full something is. DM [View Quote] sweetsNov 23, 2003, 5:33pm
that is exactly right dm.....we can never tell until we try to put something
into description ....and then get yelled at by BI.....any action or description, even the lenght of the rwx name affects the cell .....would love a 'meter' of some kind also....really hate that BI screaming at me over and over and over....although have found ways around him.....moving a pic into another cell, filling in the pic name or changing the description (that was not being accepted in the other cell)....then slipping it back in....seems to fool him most times : )...or using a movement code to make a couch 'look' like it is in a room when it is really way over in a field in another cell LMAO.... But we are set at Huge and rather than a meter how about an ExtraHuge cell limit....LOL by now they should be able to give us more, no? sweets G |
