I've just put up my conversion of Roland's (or is it Prot's?) SDK =
Example Program #2 (the dj bot) up for download. This demonstrates how =
the basics of how aw_query works. I've added a lot of comments besides =
what Roland already had.

Hope this is useful to some people!

PS: this is in VB6 project format... I have no idea if this can be =
loaded into VB5 or not. If not, then I'd be happy to work with someone =
with VB5 to offer a version for those users.

Okay, a couple news items on this:
a.. VB5 cannot load the project, but it can load the individual =
files and let you assemble them into a new project (there's one form and =
one module, no biggie)
b.. The current version of the VB-SDK has serious bugs in the query =
code that cause it to do very bizarre things. Sometimes it will work =
(in an otherwise empty world it does), sometimes it will lock up, =
sometimes it will change the midi a thousand times a minute. The good =
news on this is that Lucio (the Virtualy guy) is now working on the =
VB-SDK, and he will have an update for me tomorrow (Sunday)... cross =
your fingers!

Thanks for taking the lead on this, Rjinswand. . .the timing cannot have =
been better as I was planning to get back into sdk programming mode this =

Well it may be a week or so still... all depends on how much time =
Lucio has to do it in. Until then... you can use the current vbsdk (you =
can just get the aw.dll that works with it in the project at my site). =
Most everything is functional in it, if it's configured properly.
