Why is there need for such things? It ruins the ambience of a world,
how? If I don't see half a building, it should be _my_ choice if I want
to care.

It's my slow ass machine, why should some weirdo (in a world I want to
visit actually) want to make me lag off my ass -- or have the right to
dictate the distance my computer can render? Yeah yeah, I don't have to
visit it... but you also didn't have to read/reply to this. ;)

In certain worlds you can see through builds... if you're in a paintball
world 30 as minimum visibility is extremely stupid. You kill people who are
inside buildings (or on the other side of buildings) from the other side of
a wall. That's not fair O_O...

I disagree, it is very fair remember you can also use your thirdperson view
to cheat so it is very fair and in some worlds I lag and the minimum
distance is like 200 and my computer crashes, so I agree there should be no
minimum visibility

Yes, but in third person you have to turn around and move right up to the
build... if someone has an invisible walls on their side of the build most
of the time they can shoot you before you get to them... especially if they
make their ceiling really low >=D. The thing is you can shoot them from far
away ALSO while they are inside a building with no windows at all, which is
extremely unfair.

Which brings up a point I've been meaning to make .... option to disable 3rd
person in your world. Game worlds can be seriously harmed by the way the 3rd
person cams currently work.

And, IMO, minimum vis is extremely important to some worlds. I don't think
people who aren't running games should have any reason to use it though,
that's just irritating.

I think you might have missed the point. The idea is that if someone wants their world to work a certain way, they have the choice it to reliably do so. For example, if a person wanted to make their world a giant amusement park, and planned to use commands on certain objects to control the actions of other objects, allowing the visibility range to go too low could break the functionality of their builds and ruin the experience. Not all builds are just for looks.

There may be many reasons to want the ability to set restrictions or minimums on visibility in worlds, other than gaming. As a simple example, a world owner may want the walls in a maze to tell an interactive story that changes based on which route you take through the maze, and they may be using commands that set sign text in the distance, or may want to keep someone from "reading ahead" as they go.

But also as he said up there, you can easily go into 3rd person view and
look around lol....

yep... and world worners should be able to restrict that within their world as well. In fact, it may even be a good idea to allow some such restrictions to be set (or cleared) with a building Action command also.
