Tourist allowance 3rd color (Wishlist)
Tourist allowance 3rd color // Wishlist
Jan 7, 2003, 4:19pm
I think since AW is asking (rather much) money for the allowance of tourists
in a world, it would be nice that it would show in the Worlds List, if a
world is open for tourists or not. That means that beside green and red
worlds a 3rd color should be added.
This way world owners get some value for the $ 60.- a year they pay cause
tourists will be able to find these "open" worlds quiet easy in the list of
about 1100 worlds.
Maybe it should be possible for world owners to decide themselves if they
want their world(s) to be shown in that 3rd color.
Curious what u think....

if it were in bold people would be mad because it would draw more attention
to worlds with tourist access... :)

Make it:
Green = open
Red = closed
Blue = open and tourist
Orange = closed and tourist
and put a black rating letter into the color circle
Jan 10, 2003, 12:31am
Each rating (X, R, PG-13, PG, G) has its own background color already. OPEN
worlds have background colors depending on the rating, CLOSED worlds have a
grey background and the rating. Pre-3.4 worlds have a ? and a grey
background. This is current what is being used in beta 3.4..

The first 3 colors you propose are quite a good idea,
orange cannot really exist - red for closed. As soon as
it opens it will show green or blue.
The rating is completely uninteresting in the worldlist
as long as it meets or is below your own limit. So my vote
would be red for world that exceed your rating too.
If someone wanted to know why he cannot access, a popup
on right-clicking the world could reveal more detailed
informations, but with your 3-color system you could tell
by one quick look : access/no access.
The letters do not mean anything to me and most others who
are not from the US and I don't want to consult a manual
in order to see if I can enter a world or not.

Lord fett gave the next url:
http://www.vectracon.com/aw34/worlds_list.jpg
This shows how the world list might look in version 3.4. I noticed all
backgrounds r white, so the backgrounds of the balls could become red, green
and blue....
Thnx btw u all for giving this all a thought and nice to notice many ppl
seem to agree sumfin has to be done about this tourist allowance problem...
