the current mode for mailboxes is email, which predates grams.

it would be nice to have a bit of code that could be placed on a
mailbox, allowing grams to be sent to the 'box' owner, instead of having
to add them to the contact list.

not being a coder, I cant say how hard it would be, but wouldnt it be
nice to click on an object, have it open a gram window with the objects
owners name already there :-)

Hate to ruin in the parade, but adding telegram functions to bots =
creates several problems:
1.. Bots can send telegrams over and over, eventually causing problems =
with the server (Ever been flooded with telegrams?)
2.. If you don't like what the bot says, how can you block it?
3.. Being telegrammed by a bot can be just...wierd.

I don't think he was talking about "bots"...... he wants it built into the browser for when you right click an object..;)

Yeah, he didn't mean bots, he meant a command on an object opens your
telegram input box when you click on that object....oh and the flooding prob
already exists when someone keeps pressing the send button over and over
again. the server should not allow to send an identical message more than
once in a row.

Hmm, as long as Tourists still can't send telegrams using that feature it's fine.

Yes, a telegram command that works in the Action field would be nice, but what I personally think would be even nicer is having the option to telegram the person who owns an object you right click on when not in build mode. This is part of a set of suggestions I sent in a long time ago. Right now we are always in build mode, but that's inconvenient because it means when we're not building there is no use for the right click function except to feel your way around... and in a world with no object select you can't even do that... so making an alternative mode, like an exploration mode, would allow things like that to be added to a right click menu.
