I know that all graphics are not created equail, so the colors will not
always be the same, but is I click open a door, or cause something to
move, should not everyone else in the area see the same thing!?!??!

I cant tell you how often I have seen ppl walking through walls, that to
them, were not there :-(

SURE!!! you can have a bot watch over all the things one has moving
around in a world, but not everyone is into bots!!!!

might cause problems tho if im watching a movie (backdrop) in the theatre
and someone changes it before im ready :-)

It could create problems though m0e... e.g you oculd be standing on a
trapdoor and someone else could trigger it... and if it was an
optional tag on a command (e.g. "create move 10 0 5 allsee=on"), I
don't really think enough people would use it.

Yep. There are advantages to being able to have a choice between shared experiences and unique experiences. For example, an experience that is not shared saves bandwidth, while one that is shared allows more interaction.

On Wednesday, October 16, 2002, I wrote a post entitled "Command enhancements" which among other things includes one example of how we could keep the functionality we have while allowing an easy to use command extension to make shared events possible. I would have posted it as a reply to this one, if I had seen this one before writing it... but I'm still catching up in here. I would like to see shared events as an option also.
