you know how if 2 or more people use the same computer and the same AW
browser with diff log in's and each log in gets there own telegram list? well how bout each haveing there own ""tabs"" my contact list is maxed out, and my sister can't add anyone for her self on that list. kahDec 26, 2001, 11:16am
do two separate AW installations (example C:\Data21AW\ and C:\SisterAW\),
then all the info will be saved separately :-)) KAH [View Quote] metawraithDec 26, 2001, 5:00pm
Have 2 contact list files,
and simply copy/rename the appropriate one to "contacts.txt" before entering the universe. Don't forget to copy/rename the "contacts.txt" file back to your personal file afterwards, or changes wont be saved. In fact Ananas's AwStart utility is perfect for this http://oct31.de/aw/awstart/index.html -- [View Quote] jermeJan 6, 2002, 5:56pm
Why not make use of directories? Each time a user logs in the browser could
create a directory (if it doesn't already exist) with that user's name inside the activeworlds directory. For example, when I log in the directory C:\ActiveWorlds\JerMe\ would be created. When my friend John Viper comes over and uses my computer to log in the directory c:\ActiveWorlds\John Viper\ would be created. Each directory would then contain that user's telegram, contact list, and teleport files. When and *if* inter-universal teleports become available each user directory could have a sub directory for each universe, as the contacts list may be different. Each user could have seperate teleport lists for each univ. but, that's what inter-universe teleports are for :-) -J. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jeremy Booker JTech Web Systems (www.JTechWebSystems.com -- Coming Soon) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [View Quote] young phalphaJan 13, 2002, 6:17am
Unmentioned in the newsletter about 3.3, but Roland said 3.3 supports 500 max contacts :)

"The maximum number of contacts on the contact list has been increased to 500." in the bit on privacy features... KAH [View Quote] |
