question: java script catalog for viewing rwx? (Wishlist)
question: java script catalog for viewing rwx? // Wishlistsexy eyesAug 25, 2001, 8:23pm
Is there a application out there yet (ie: Java Script, etc), for organizing
(Cataloging) .rwx objects to view from a catalog page on the owners world website? I don't know if I worded it right, but what I am looking for is a working java script viewer for use on my website that will view a catalog of my custom objects for the people who build in the world to be able to go through to see the particular item. The viewer can be simple, but it would need the ability to load an .rwx file by name to show. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Sexy Eyes (AV's World Owner) john viperAug 26, 2001, 4:21pm
A JavaScript would be almost deadly. You would have to give it the
direct path to your object path, which anyone knows is dangerous. There are ways of hiding JavaScript, but anyone worth their salt.jpg could get right around it. However, a perl script or something like that would work just dandily. All you would need is a cgi-bin, a server side Perl script, and a configuration file for that perl script (that no one else would be able to see, unless they have direct access to your server), and you would have a very secure object path viewer. So all it really needs to do is read in every file from your objectpath/models directory and then drop the .zip extension, and list them out? I might be able to whip something up, if you are interested, E-Mail me at jviper at jtsoft.net Oh and say Hi to Lightwave for me ;-) -JV [View Quote] > Is there a application out there yet (ie: Java Script, etc), for organizing > (Cataloging) .rwx objects to view from a catalog page on the owners world > website?
